More Fun Figures Britains Mountie

One of the items I discovered in the collection that I purchased was a Britains Mountie on a card. This was done by Lesney Products of Canada.

More Fun Figures Britains card

The back of the card gives the history of the Mounties. I figured it was done as a souvenir in Canada. I send photos to Paul Morehead of Plastic Warrior. He said that the card was common over in the UK. No matter to me it is an unusual item for the United States as Reeves had the exclusive on Britains.

More Fun Figures Britains soldier

This figure was part of the collection I bought last week. It is a Polish figure from PZG SP. I figure it is a Polish soldier and is about 2 1/4 inches tall.

More Fun Figures Britains Indians

I picked up these figures in the UK. The Indians are by Bonnie Bilt but in soft plastic. They were only done in hard plastic in the United States. The pirates are downsized copies of Thomas Toys-Poplar.

More Fun Figures Britains Speedwell

The final figure is a swoppet figure. I checked with Erwin and he did not recognize it. I sent it to Paul Morehead and he immediately recognized it was from Speedwell. Speedwell was a small English company that made some interesting figures such as Robin Hood and copies of Marx Roy Rogers. Paul said it is uncommon (rare).

Speedwell figure looks like a mix british soldier with wrong pants no pockets ,unrecognized tunic with a shotgun or western era weapon ,that made it even rare.Wonder what army they tried to made and if more poses.

Wish a Company(Hint AIP) would produce a 54MM set of 1939 Polish Army.

  6. BRIAN says:

It used to chafe my chaps back in the day that Mountie figures never appeared in “Action poses” firing weapons etc,I wasn’t aware of Starlux which did some shooting Mounties, always seemed to just be marching or mounted on horses with Lance pointed straight up.

Wish a Company would put out a 54MM set of 1939 Polish Army.

  8. Markus says:

PZG did at least three (marching, advancing, standing firing) Polish 1939 Army foot figures in about 54mm. Due to thick bases towering up to 58 mm. Plus a number of 1939, five maybe more. These on parade and not in attack.

Thank you Markus for the information ,i have several recently made new catalogs about polish made figures .I have most Napoleonic and Cossacks /medieval set poses in my collection ,but ww2 or post- soviet era i only have few poses .Is hard to get them intact as very limited produced and plastic is not good quality ,especially in regards to weapons and arms .
      best regards
