While I was in the hospital, I was able to catch part of a Sherlock Holmes episode. The episode was “The Sign of Three”, where Sherlock has to give the best man speech. What drew me to the episode was they had a scene of two grenadiers standing guard. I had to laugh for several reasons. I knew the place they used for the filming quite well, it was out in front of the Guards museum, which Laurie and I have visited several times. Second thing was they had no guard boxes for the guards. Finally they had the grenadiers out where the tourists could mingle with them, because of the terror threats over the years the guard boxes are now inside the fence.
The episode had an indirect toy soldier connection, the building to the right of the scene is the Guards Toy Soldier Center. This is a great shop to walk through loaded with metal figures. they have a few plastic items, but it is still worth stop to see the dioramas that they have in the shop.
Getting back to Sherlock Holmes, The show is one of six items under consideration for possible production as a set. Lego has a project called Lego 2014 Winter Reviews. These are ideas that have gotten 10,000 or more signatures by January 6th,2014. Lego will review the ideas and which ones they will put into production.
Lego are the new playset company.
