Part Two Gettysburg Toy Soldier Show

Part Two Gettysburg Toy Soldier Show 2022, we continue our look at the various dealers and tables. I have to thank Dave Carpenter and Mike Pendergast for the name of the foam company Atherton Scenics.

Kerry Dunstable is another dealer who has separate figures to playsets.
bucket of figures.
Kerry had several playsets with no boxes. He had a Marx Castle playset and an Alamo playset.

Mike Martello

the person to go to for Britains Deetail and other foreign figures was Mike Martello’s table.
Mike Martello
Mike is another of my old list people. We talked about a number of things including finding out he was at my friend Peter Bergner’s show in Germany. I told him that Peter is still strong in figures. We had both missed the Peter junk boxes. One other thing goes to Warhorse’s website. Mike has a photo of Mike before his table was hit by people who bought many figures he had for sale..

Part Two Gettysburg Toy Soldier Show Warhorse Miniatures

Warhorse Miniature
As noted I sat with Mike and Carolyn of Warhorse Miniatures. It was fun watching Mike sell his figures. The new set of Vikings he has done takes four hours to make one set of eight figures. Mike set up a Saxon village with civilians doing various jobs and fighting poses.

Figures
I took a level shot of Mike’s figures. His figures fit in with Conte and other figures. I will be doing a review of his new Viking figures soon.

Part Two Gettysburg Toy Soldier Show Other People

Stine and wife
Some of the other people at the show were Tom Stine and his wife. Mike had an array of Marx plastic figures.
Part Two Gettysburg Toy Soldier Show Dan and Pat
Some other people I had not seen in while Pat and Dan. Both were selling figures. I got a bunch of Marx horses for him.
Part Two Gettysburg Toy Soldier Show Paul Amody
Another old friend was Paul Amody who I caught as he was eating.
Bob Horung
Bob Hornung is another old friend. While he deals in metal figures he makes got a large plastic collection from Canada which had my major want the Speedwell armor car on fire. He does these lovely shops of miniature toy soldiers. We got one years ago which I wi
Betty and Alan Ford
Finally, the last friends I saw were Betty and Alan Ford. Alan had a number of playsets for sale

Final Thoughts

Mike Pendergast in his review of the show there was a big crowd when the show opened. When I got in twenty minutes I walked right in and it did not seem crowded. It might have the early birds who get in and out or the size of the show. Also, it seemed that playsets were not selling. I did see a person buy a Marx Knight Playset made for dimestores sell. That said I had a great time first buying for resale and seeing old and new friends. Mike and Carolyn were so nice to let me sit and rest. I will be back next year.

Nice report, Paul. Looks about the same as last year except the dynamic trio of Pat, Dan and Tom were there! They always tell me at Wheeling that Wheeling is the only show they do, and I kept telling them to add Gettysburg since they all live in Pennsylvania. So NOW they show up and I was not able to! Will see all four of you at Wheeling in June I hope. Mike H

Good review! It’s fun to be able to put faces with the names. I can’t ever make these shows, so I really appreciate the photos and comments.
Looking forward to your review of Warhorse Miniatures Viking figures.

Knock-knock…anyone else out there still collect “toy sojers”? This is a great site to post if you do.
Face Book ( Butt book)…Ugh, forget it.
Come back to the real deal. Dig some figs/accessories out of the ol’ collection and share it here.
    Conversions…dioramas…?
To “channel” Erwin Sell 0n his characteristic sign off “My Thoughts”…I say, ” My 2-cents: and I’ve spent it.”
