Part Two Odds Ends January Spinmaster

Part Two Odds Ends January, we have three items to cover. First, we have some figure news from Mars. Next, we look at Spinmaster’s new Batman mini-figure line. finally a figure comparison of Marx and DGN.

Part Two Odds Ends January Spinmaster Mars Russians

Rahway alerted that Drum and Flag has a photo of Mars next release Russian Infantry. You can see it here. Mars 32025 Russian Infantry is tentatively set to come out in March of this year. there some interesting poses, I believe the Russian officer with his arm in a sling in unusual. We will do a more detail review when the come out.

Spinmaster Batman

Part Two Odds Ends Batman
In my last post, I stated that Spinmaster had released a mini-figure set for Batman. As promised here is the first look at this series. The series states that there are 20 plus figures in the line, but the paperwork is only showing 13.
the figures are as follows:
1. Batman in green
2. Batman advancing with Batarang
3. Robin
4. Nightwing
5. Joker
6..Harley Quinn
7.Clayface
8. Scarecrow
9. Batgirl
10. Red Hood
11. Bane
12 and 13 are chase figures which are variations of Batman and Robin
figure comparison
The Batman figures are close to 54mm as we see comparing Batman and Robin to a Marx 54mm figure. The figures are hard plastic and one piece.
Bane
One thing that I like is that Spinmaster is doing is some figures I have not seen in this size. I will be looking for Scarecrow, Batgirl, Red Hood, Nightwing, and Clayface as I have no representations in my Superhero collection. The Bane above is another I did not have until I got him. He can be used with 60mm as well as 54mm as the Starlux sailor shows.

Figure Comparison

Marx and DGN
Wayne asked how the DGN cavalry figure compared to the Marx cavalry figure. I got a damaged Marx cavalry figure so we can see that they could work together.

Paul, many thanks for the comparison shot – a pic is worth a thousand words.

The Mars Russians look promising if they turn out okay and not too big or small. I don’t know that I’d build an entire army out of them, but if the size is right they could definitely compliment what I already have – either smaller Marx/Airfix size or the newer TSSD figures. I need to get their other recent set of Russians, too.
