Odds Ends Part Four Part Four Axel’s Photo

Odds Ends Part Four Part Four Axel’s Photo we started off with a photo from Axel Sohnius. It is an example of two conversion figures he will be selling at the German Show. Kent Sprecher has informed me that the Mars WWII Japanese are for sale. Final I will show some finds from recent shows.  York Toy Show report will be up in a day or so.

Axel I met through a sale on Ebay. We later met a a Plastic Warrior. Axel has done some very nice conversions which I have some in my collection. He will have some of his conversion figures for sale at the German show on December 2. in Herne.  Two of the figures he will be selling at the show are above. One is an axe man, other a sword figure.

He broke down the make up of the two figures. The axe  fighter has Timpo ax,head, upper and lower body.  The shield is resin, basefrom Texas figure with the helmet, feather and dagger tin.

On the sword fighter with winged helmet the upper and lower body are Timpo. As to the cloak it is plastic and shield is Britains.  finally head, sword and base are tin.

You see other of Axel’s work at this site.

Kent Sprecher has told me the WWII Japanese Infantry are now available. The figures are in a light tan. The set has 15 figures. You will get one officer and two each of the other 7 poses.  Note this can vary per box.

I did two events before the York Toy show. One was an indoor garage sale the other was an outdoor flea market.  I got to the flea market late and most of the dealers  had gone.  One dealer had a partial set of the Safari Civil War.  Seeing how nice they are I picked up and will check out my local craft shops in the near future.

One thing I was able to do which I have not done in a long time is compare different  figures. In the above photo I put an Accurate and Marx Confederates with the Safari Confederate. I think it will work well with these figures and others. What do you think?
