The drive down to the show is an hour and half.  I had been to the Radisson many years before for a toy show there.  I had decided to go down as we would not be at Plastic Warrior. Also Laurie had to work.

The show was the same setup as last year. the small rooms to the right were being for the figure exhibits.  The large room on left as you walked down held the dealers.

As you came right in the door there was George Guerrio of Minuteman.  George had his wide selection of metal figures for sale. He told me he did well despite the power going out at Gettysburg.  I got from him some magazines I need for a friend in Europe.  Walking around I found that most the tables were metal figures and related.  I got from a friend Bill Graver  a Britains plastic wagon in the box. The covered top is of a cloth material. Iy was only done for two years. I also got a Hong Copy of the Monogram soldiers in the box. the box is different from the Marx box they were sold in.

Another party had the AIP Fort with a mix of Armies in Plastic  and Marx reissue figures.  The figures were the Arabs that CTS did.

The only other dealer with plastic in the main room was Matt Murphy. He had a wide selection of plastic both loose and packaged.  Most of the figures were the new production, but he did have vintage plastic such as Auburn.

I talked to Matt about his interest in buying TSSD. His response it was in the beginning stages. There are many things to consider in buying TSSD as such price, etc.  It will take time and as we get details we will let you know. For now best let things play out.

One other plastic dealer at the show was Rick Eber. Rick was out in the hall with several others dealers.  Here is some of the playsets he had including the Marx Gunsmoke.

On the lower level Rick had the rare Marx destroyed building. This tin litho building was only in a few sets. Rick said he has in his collection the prototype. He said the prototype is painted on the inside.

Here is just a small sample of what was  at the show. When we get more links of the figures we will pass it along.  I would like to thank  Rick Eber for help on the photos as I was having some problems with my camera.  Rick said he did well at Gettysburg.

One Response to MFCA Toy Soldier Show May 2018 Report

  1. Nice review of the show. I could not make it for the show, maybe next year. George always has a great display. Hobby Bunker is a favorite of mine for plastic.
