Odds Ends Links Warhansa Lod Enterprises Other Items  we are trying to catch up on things.  First we have various links from Erwin from Ebay. Then we have a photo of some interesting figures Warhansa has planned. Lod Enterprises has given a update on their Revolutionary War project.  I have a correction to a previous article.

Erwin has come up with some interesting items on Ebay. The first is a set of figures called Men of Action.  The question on these figures new design or copies of someone. also what other figures did Gordy International do.

Our next link is of some five inch army figures from Hong Kong.  I feel they are based on American figures, but I can be wrong what do you say?

Our next listing to look at is some Lido Germans from Australia. As you will note the Germans are in various colors. Until this time I have only seen  green and possible gray from Hong Kong.  Erwin contacted the seller and he stated the figures were made in Australia.  I would buy them but high cost for the figures and shipping turn me off.

Looking at Facebook I saw a posting of Rodion Makhaev He was showing  future relases from Warhansa of cowboys and pirates in 1/32 scale. The cowboy set has six figures. While the pirate set has five figures and a cannon.  This is their best work yet. I mean the detail and  poses. The cowboy in the middle is possible a female figure. Second pirate from the left  is firing a pistol. I can not wait for these figures to come out.

Lodd Enterprises has given an update on the figures for the Yorktown Playset he and Ron Barzso are doing. The set will containBritish regular army, British light infantry, American regular army, and American light infantry. Each set will contain 8 different poses. You can see and example above.  The set and figure sets will be out in the fall.

Back in November 2016, I talked about these figures.  They were part of a twenty-five year old mystery.  I had acquired 25 years ago the colonial soldier in a box of other figures.  We had no idea who made them until I found them for sale on the internet.  At the time I had no idea who made the figures and lean toward R & L known for their premiums.

In issue of 170 of Plastic Warrior David Fyre  had talked to Craig Hall author of “Breakfast Barons”. He found out they were made by Consolidated Plastic. I appreciate the correction and will correct it.

As I know flat figures are from New Zealand. But I don’t know brand.

  2. Andy says:

I “NEED” at least TWO sets of the cowboys. These are the first new figures to excite me since Austin Miniatures. The drinking pirate gives me an idea for a cowboy conversion figure I will make right now!!

  3. Don Perkins says:

The Warhansa cowboys and pirates both look pretty good. I especially like that two-handed shooter. Just when we thought just about every conceivable position had been made, they come up with something highly original.

And those LOD/Barzso Siege of Yorktown figures are downright exciting. Ken Ciak confirmed they will be injection molded. And I’m assuming they will be 60mm, just like the Barzso Battle of Lexington figures, which were truly great in their own right.

  4. Les White says:

There are more poses of LOD Rev War figures on their Facebook pages. 3 more pics showing Light Infantry and Infantry.
Don’t know enough about this period so can’t tell which are supposed to be American and which are British. Some poses appear to have plug-in heads and maybe plug-in arms.
The WARHANSA cowboys, or maybe more possibly bank robbers, are nice but still have huge handguns. I hope they correct this before production.

I only put up one photo to show what collectors can look forward too.

I agree with Les White in oversize calibers else revolvers. The same issue Warhansa had done before and will not correct .I guess is A brand style pattern they like use. As same way fantasy 28 mm wargames figures are done with exaggerated weapons.
It had been the main factor in me personally not buying most their sets unfortunately
The German paras were nice poses but had that issue plus wrong helmets and actually US weapons in some.
But I also agree with those who love than as that and will buy it .
For everyone their like.Im glad and happy for new coming and those will buy it.
About LOD the figures post here are British regular as typical regular 1768 new uniforms w still much heavy adorned than the 1778/79 regulated American continental new designed regular army base in french designed with some copy of British .
The British figures are still been done with some minor wrong depiction accuracy as far I see by most maker today. The scabbard bayonet hung from wrong two crossed belts.
I take this explanetion below from a book data base to describe one of then.
      Sample .
(A bayonet scabbard that hung at the waist would usually slap against the soldiers’ calves as he walked. A large, wide leather belt ran from the left shoulder, across the chest and to the right hip. This belt supported a rectangular cartridge box that housed prepacked powder and lead shot. (Note: Many drawings and media depict British soldiers of this time as wearing two such wide leather belts, one over each shoulder and crossing at the middle. This is inaccurate. Only one belt was worn. Some accounts contest that the second shoulder belt held the bayonet scabbard, but as noted, the bayonet hung from the waist. )

Regarding sets by LOD as far I can see from photos.

From FB page the first two sets are British (one regular infantry generic ,other with fur/leather cap and or helmet style are light infantry )followed by two sets each 4 poses of continental US army in same designation regular generic and foot light infantry .

      My thoughts.

I hope LOD will color match the new sets to the Barszo/LOD Revolutionary War sets already available. Also, I hope the scale will not be any different.

  5. H. Paas says:

i hope when LOD is done doing revolutionary war we see some civil war from them or dark ages

Pat Verrone has been making various figures related to the president Marx never did and others. I covered him before on the web site.

  10. Peter Evans says:

The Men of Action bag are Hong Kong made figures.
They were available in the UK in the mid 1970s.
They are plastic versions of the Lone*Star ‘Metalions’ Die cast western range, which in itself had some copies of Marx 6 inch figures.
The major difference is that the bases were removed so they were free standing.
For example the Marx figure running, twisting sideways with Tomahawk was given standing legs.
Obviously these sets were imported from Hong Kong and either re bagged in the US or were franchised out to the Hong Kong firm and the labels printed over there.

The big scale figures i keep seen often at ebay mark HK bellow ,there 4 more poses .I Don’t recall seen it as vintage type .Thinking are well done; made me think of Marx artist work and HK later mold by Rado-Raytoys.The seller claim 12 cm .I had other link as 16 cm .So i do not know much .
Other seller put then as marx copies along with actual marx made other same scale figures.
The 3.5 scale marines are in not these poses, but there is second 3.5 set done by Marx that CANE copied too.
not my scale interest but curiosity of then.
May be Kent will recon then .
