Very pleased to inform you of the release of seven new sets in June as follows:-
 
          War of 1812<\/u><\/strong>
54 CND 03       Canadian Light Dragoons<\/strong>

          Napoleonic Peninsular War \u2013 Guerrilla Actions (Spain 1810)<\/u><\/strong>

2. 54 PNF 07        French Escort Cavalry (shell jacket)<\/strong>
 
          Texas Revolution & The Alamo 1835 – 1836<\/u><\/strong>
1. 54 TXN 01                 Texian Infantry (round peaked cap)<\/strong>
3. 54 TXN 01-PW          Texian Infantry (pinwheel cap)<\/strong>
4. 54 TXN 01-FL           Texian Infantry (foldable leather cap)<\/strong>
5. 54 TXN 02                 Texian Cavalry (round peaked cap)<\/strong>

54 CND 03  Canadian Light Dragoons (War of 1812)<\/strong>
The set contains 5 model soldiers comprising 1 officer and 4 troopers, plus 5 horse models. The heads and arms are interchangeable to enable the assembly of different postures. Although there are no massed cavalry battle actions in the War of 1812, the transportation mode of the period requires the availability of horse soldiers for many field operations. The Canadian Light Dragoons are issued with sabers and pistols, but not carbines.

Their uniforms are those of pre-1812 British Light Dragoons with Tarleton helmets and laced jackets, except that the men are often depicted as wearing only roundabout jackets. Only the officer wears the laced jacket.
 
We choose to do a set of Canadian cavalry to complete the range of troop types for the period.

Other Canadian sets include CND 02 Voltiguers (the above photo is a work-in-progress model); CND 04 Provincial Artillery (= Royal Artillery in stove-pipe shako), and CND 06 Royal Navy. We may add a Congreve rocket set to the series.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

French Napoleonic<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

54 PNF 06  French Garrison Infantry (Guerrilla Actions in Spain, 1810)<\/strong>The set contains 9 model soldiers comprising 1 officer and 8 infantrymen. The heads and arms are interchangeable to enable the assembly of different postures. Except for the heads, most of these models are those already issued under 54 AMR 05 Scott\u2019s Brigade box-set. The Spanish climate as well as the tedious routines of garrison duties along the long supply lines meant that the French, German or Italian soldiers would be wearing only their shell jackets and the distinctive bonnet de police.
 
These models could also be used as Mexican militia infantry for the Alamo campaign.

An option for the officer to be wearing a bicorne is provided in the set.
 
(The set was designed for 1812 Scott\u2019s Brigade but we soon realized that the models could be easily converted for Spanish Guerrilla wars 1808-1814 as well as the Mexican militia of 1836. For those who have no interest in 1812, these other periods might be of interest.)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

54 PNF 07  French Escort Cavalry (Guerrilla Actions in Spain, 1810)<\/strong>The set contains 5 model soldiers comprising of 1 officer and 4 troopers, plus 5 horse models. The heads and arms are interchangeable to enable the assembly of different postures. French supply lines in Spain are under constant threat by the Spanish insurgents and numerous actions are fought. Various cavalry and improvised mounted infantry units are needed to keep the lines open. These troopers would be wearing fatigue uniforms. It is a popular feature of French light cavalry to wear a rolled coat over their shoulders as added protection against sword cuts.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

We will round this series up with artillery and a command set.

Texian Infantry<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

54 TXN\u00a001\u00a0\u00a0Texian Infantry (1836)<\/strong>
The set contains 9 model soldiers comprising of 1 officer and 8 infantrymen. The heads and arms are interchangeable to enable the assembly of different postures. Note that except for the officer and heads, most of these models are those already issued under 54 AMR 05 Scott\u2019s Brigade box-set.

(Being a collector myself, there is often the desire to convert certain models into a slightly different period. To accommodate such requests and to minimize our warehouse having to deal with loose parts shipping. We choose to simply extra-sculpt and \u00a0include the required parts and options as we see appropriate.)

The models of this set can be used as British soldiers in the early Cape wars and other colonial actions.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

54 TXN\u00a001-PW\u00a0\u00a0Texian Infantry (Pinwheel Cap)<\/strong>
The set contains the same 9 model soldiers as above, comprising of 1 officer and 8 infantrymen. The heads and arms are interchangeable to enable the assembly of different postures. The pinwheel forage cap is issued in the US army in 1825 before it is replaced in 1833. Many American volunteer units in the Texas revolution of 1835-1836 would have dressed with army surplus.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

54 TXN\u00a001-FL\u00a0\u00a0Texian Infantry (Foldable Leather Cap)<\/strong>
The set contains the same 9 model soldiers as above, comprising of 1 officer and 8 infantrymen. The heads and arms are interchangeable to enable the assembly of different postures. The foldable leather cap is issued in the US army in 1833 before it is replaced in 1839. Many American volunteer (deserter) units in the Texas revolution of 1835-1836 would have been dressed as such. Their unshaven appearance is intentional.
