Issue 64 of Playset Magazine has informed us of the untimely death of Richard O’Brien at the age of 78. He had cancer. Richard had done a several books on toy soldiers which Laurie and I contribute photos to help him out. The one book had so many photos from us that I had Richard give credit to my late uncle to some of the photos .
Laurie and I were glad we had a chance to call him a very good friend and will miss him as will the rest of the toy soldier community.
I have the 1997 edition of his book with tons of your pictures as well as Gary Linden’s. Gary is a local guy and I run into him at OTSN and the Kane County shows.
Anyway, the fraternity just got a little smaller, sad day indeed.
Richard was a great person.
I was very proud when he place some of my Soldiers in his book.
