The conversion I got from  this time is a mounted German soldier with a sword. Peter used a mounted Marx 60mm cavalry with sword overhead.  The horse is by Cofalu.

Peter Evans Figure Finds Treasures June 2017 Horrible Histories

Peter Evans Figure Finds Treasures June 2017Horrible Histories  was series of historical figures based on the best selling series of the same name. The company Worlds Apart did two series. The figures  were sold in blind bags and  sets.  Worlds Apart did limited edition figures in gold. Here we have William the Conquor and Genhis Khan in gold.

We have two of super villians on either side of the young lady. The figure on the left is The Lizard one of Spiderman’s villians. The figure on the right is Killer Croc one of Batman’s villians.  The woman in the middle is a Barbie figure. They are doing various Barbie figures in this scale. This is one of them.

This one of the Bullyland Superman figures another addition to my collection.

Peter Evans Figure Finds Treasures June 2017 Figures

We start of with these three figures. The one on the left is from Jurrassic type series.  The middle figure is a medieval figure we have talked about before.  The person who scuplted the figure did not have any idea a proper helmet for a Medieval figure. The figure on the right was done  by Woolbro under the title of Roman knights. Peter said in his Plastic Warrior Roman Special that he felt these could be used as Romans. The figures copied the Crescent knight poses.

We have in the above photo a swoppet Indian. The torso is one piece.  You would think that it is another China copy. It looks like it was done in Germany.

Final two figures are from Italy lot we were showing photos from Plastic Warrior show.  They are from the  Garibaldi red shirts who fought to reunite Italy.

The Italian figures apparently are not Garibaldini Italian red shirts .
They were made by company name-call (ITALY)-Dus why the name “ITALY” in base .
It was a company that mainly copy all brands from Italy and sold then not painted, the painted figures most had been sold as that by else or owner made.
The soldiers were intended as US cavalry and consist of 6 poses(some in high cavalry boots ) and other set of 6 poses Indians. Other Soldier carry holsters with revolvers, lasso and US cavalry shirts ,not used by Italian Red shirts while bandannas were and type pants possible too,so the artist may had been strongly influence for or by it when making set in purpose or by mistake…
There is a debate in Italian blogs regarding it as they were sold always with Indians matching set in bags or blister packs since 70s .
I have both sets ,I had clear the brand name before and mention this as they were posted unpainted set with Indians in last PW shows pictures as Italian figures.
I had send admin the two full set pictures before in not painted format plus explanation.
The original maker artist designer is debated to be either TORGANO or Fontanini in Italian books and base in actual prototype composition original poses from 40s.
The painted figures looks very alike RED SHIRTS as very close uniform used by RS from Garibaldy small army base in French original uniform pants and Kepi with mix shirts ,so well suitable for …
The French Kepi was also adopted by US army in 1850s and used by cavalry till 1870s

The odd (made in china)plastic medieval is an artillery-catapult -siege crew made out of a mix of Herald pose with Boley construction poses .The figure is part of 3 different poses belong to SIMBA two castles playset sold with original made SIMBA knights mounted and foot.

The hungry shark is given with a Kids Game by same name ,my daughter play it some times in I pad. It come with Games free too when u buy it ,there other species.

The HK Crescent copy knight-roman mix pose was posted here by me ,it is belong to a playset HK set with castle posted too with castle and Cherilea mounted knights at PW magazine issue # 162

Here is my post here as well.

P.S -I like the pirates, never seen those poses before. How tall are they?

  3. Markus says:

The swoppet Indian was indeed done by Heinerle, Germany. A little series of 6 different done from about 67 to 70/72. There are 6 Cowboys to go with (or battle against). Replaced in the early 70s by redesigned but much harder to find Indians and Cowboys.

  4. Andy says:

That’s a great looking Cofalu horse. They did a nice job with their horses.

  5. erwin says:

Yes Cofalu horses are one of best made in my opinion.
I think there total 4 poses and were cover here before.
I will have check poses later.
They were reissues under Ludorev brand later.
    Best.

I had only two different mounted horses. Most people know these horses from the batch that Michael Smith had run. Michael found the mold in the Mauritius while visting his family. He had the horses and other figures run. years later he went back and found the mold had been ruin due to being left out in the elements. As to where Michael is? who he has not shown up at any toy soldier events in awhile. so we have no idea if he has any horses left.

I just corroborate with my horses ,
The Cofalu I got are reissues made in 90s and partially painited and sold under Ludorev with cowboys and Indians in soft plastic. The Indians and cowboys were actually mix poses from Jem brand with paint on it; while horses were reissued from COFALU .The also sold a fort with it.
I have 4 different cowboys and 4 different Indian horses for total 8 different poses .
The poses are almost same between cowboys and Indian horses, main difference is in seat with a simple blanket x Indians.
The maker(Ludorev-Lorev) also release the JEM copies of knights and knight horses with 4 different all plastic 1/32 scale castles that I have 3 as well.
They were imported and sold here in Florida by Town and Country hobby store and Orange hobby stores in Miami Dade county where I bough all in cases in mid 90s .
Prices per playset I paid were from 9.99-29.99 depending in size.

Cofalu knight horses were same as cowboys with mediaeval type harness molded separated add on .I have few of then but not sold with above brand (LUDOREV)…

Cofalu made also 2 different types horses specifically for carriages and wagons and another rare 4? horses very alike Jean Hoefler flat style but not same or cloned.
I had not seen those reissued or released made by LUDOREV
I do not have those others.
    Best…

Here is the Simba castle playset with the crew medieval figures poses as i mentioned belong too .Note one pose was made mounted.I think playset do not show another pose .They are a combination of Boley construction poses brand mix with medieval type herald style pose.

There are a couple of poses I need but I am not paying $69.99 for a set to get them. I just check the junk boxes and wait.

      • erwin says:

I will check my play set ,see if it has some doubles ,i have not box ,but rest of course.I have the 4 castles made by Simba, they use same figures in all minus one that used the early 60 mm figures poses of different type
They(54 mm ) pup often mix with other as generic knights but most time ,not branded.
They are very easy around in eBay if see cheap will post .

  8. Andy says:

Looked at Cofalu horses on eBay France – prices aren’t bad but shipping is pretty high. I was interested in the pose in the above picture with front legs down & rear legs in air; found others poses but not that one. Have now realized that one of the poses from Weston Mexican horses is quite similar as well as 1/35 scale horse from Master Box 8th Pennsylvania Cavalry Regiment. I have both, so I am all set until this specific Cofalu horse falls into my lap. If anyone has it to sell, please contact me by getting my e-mail from Stad with “COFALU HORSE” in subject line to avoid getting spammed out.
