BiPlant Modern Russian Anti-Terrorism Force

BiPlant Modern Russian Anti-Terrorism Force just released several toy soldiers sets. According  to Andrey Buslov some sets are just converted Airfix figures.  They have done one  complete  new set Modern Russian Anti-Terrorism Force. The set has four different  figures in  two different  colors white and khaki. Andrey feels they are  represent winter and summer dress.  The figures are 70mm for some reason. The set comes with simple, but nice scenery trees also in white and khaki. The figures are a bit  crude  but unique.

BiPlant Modern Russian Anti-Terrorism Force  Some Thoughts

I sent a photo to Erwin Sell for his thoughts. Here is his comments.

By looking at picture I can add following base in the simple non detail uniform and some ,(not all weapons) that can be used-adopted as for Korean war  ,
Specially  pose with grenade and kneeling sniper making minor change as to make looks an SKS rifle .If the poor detail AKs could be change or convert too.
my observation .
Other than that I don’t see other as to be use for what they are or any 007/Espionage action film representation-scene.
BiPlant known before only as company, which reissued some old “Oritet” sets (mainly Airfix copies).

To each his own, but I think I’ll pass – both the scale and sculpting. The plants look like stuff I have in my aquariums.

  2. erwin says:

I agree in plants ,they are aquarium plants ,very odd x land .Not impress with set and poor use in my case, poses are boring but one. Detail poor and scale few match out there specially modern made in china sets …
Really I don’t see the idea making figures and wasting plastic, mold if releasing sets as these ,but I bet some will like .So I may welcome then hoping are not too crazy in price of course ,but will probably take me years buying then if I get it.
    best…

  3. Mark T. says:

Due to the scale and the dull sculpting I would never buy these. Look at the face of the man in the hood. He looks like an owl. Like Erwin says, why would they even bother making these?

  4. Andy says:

Maybe they are trying to market to kids vs. adult “connoisseurs”?
Look at the MPC JUNK we played with as kids.
The same one set of ringhands in different colors – blue for cowboys,
red for firemen, green for soldiers… Talk about a “waste” of molds..

    • Erwin says:

Or maybe the pet store x fish tank too w acuatic plants and next set are diver in camouflage!?.
      Best…

      • Andy says:

Same 4 MPC flesh colored ringhand copies with separate oversized diving gear accessories. Worm flavored for realistic attacks by fish. Erwin, I still need the Barzso character figures for less than $75 each!! Still hard to believe he lost money with secondary market prices?? I guess Ty never got $2000 for a $5 Beanie Baby, either…. Erwin, seriously, looking for an UNDAMAGED Timpo Wild West Surrey Ref #274. Don’t necessarily need box, but need intact model. Bought one on eBay from Germany and it arrived busted all to hell due to weird packing. The guy had cotton shoved into the box. Maybe broken by custom ripping it apart looking for smuggled drugs or something? Sent it back & never heard from seller. Had to get refund from eBay intervention. Can you get me one from your contacts??

        • erwin says:

Andy when get back from job tonight will send you some .Barzso I had not go shows recently.
The Timpo carriage is not easy in good condition on low price .I saw one no long ago sold x near 300.00 .
Sorry in you bad experience .Shipping is a mess ,thanks God the eBay protection works most time in buyers favors .
Always if can before open case take pictures and video anything you get from Europe or abroad ,even if box looks ok.then do as soon you open. If all fine erase ,if not send pictures with first request to seller .
other sires I buy stuff there is not protection.
still PayPal offer it always ,o are your credit cards too.
          keep all that in mind.
Above all Andy I suggest to take it easy trying find things and not rush, they will pup most time x you at better price .
Other day I lost a bid in Pech Hermanos Aztecs set 12 poses that are extremely super hard to find in complete condition ,but it went ballistic by Spaniards collectors, specially by one of most famous that outbid me as he too want its I have let go. It 10 years already I’m trying get then ,I only have 4 poses .
I set a mind price and that is all, I get all not .
I can not spend fortunes in figures as more important things in life x me …
          later ..
          best..

Been looking for surrey for YEARS!!!!

          • Andy says:

In the time I’ve been looking for the $200 Timpo surrey that would be sitting in my display cabinet had I found it, I’ve probably WASTED $5000 ($5 or $10 at a time) on crap that is now thrown out, sitting in boxes in the closet, or given away. Would rather have a GOOD item for a “higher” price than piles of cheap junk that I’m sorry I bought.

          • erwin says:

Andy ,I do not if you are aware.
Some Argentina brands copied swappet timpo and solid too, the figures are very crude while the carriages ,minus horses are very well done in plastic, so are the fort that were done in plastic and not copies of TIMPO
the brands among others are (Oklahoma) ,ALNI and Epopeya .
The Surrey was copied by then too, I think Alni.
            Best…

          • Andy says:

THANKS, ERWIN!!!!!!! I bought a Timpo Surrey from the German links you sent me!
It was half the price of the (broken) one from eBay. You truly are a GREAT RESOURCE!!

          • erwin says:

            Andy ,I’m glad you did.
            pleasure to help always …
            best..

          • Andy says:

Erwin, you sent me an AWESOME website with much better Timpo variety and prices than eBay.de. Wished I asked you long before now. Got MIB Timpo Surrey in the yellow color I preferred for $110.65 shipped. Shipping charges from this German site are CHEAPER than NYC to CT!! Site also has Britains and just about every other company that ever made figures. Lot of “impossible to find” items are on the site. As always, you really helped me out, brother.

    • Mark T. says:

That’s all well and good to market to kids, and more companies should do it, but look at the Auburn Rubber marine next to old Owl-Face there. That is a figure made almost 60 years ago to sell to kids and it is as good as or better than many of the adult collector figures being made today. There’s no reason kids’ toy figures have to look simplistic or outright bad.

      • Andy says:

I think a lot of Auburn figures were sculpted by Ferriot Brothers. Today, that would probably mean $50 per figure; set of 8 for $400.

        • Mark T. says:

Wow! I never knew Auburns were so valuable now. I have at least 6 poses in a box with my Lido figures in the garage! I know for sure I am lacking the smoking guy. I got them for $1.00 each when my local hobby shop closed in 1986 and cleaned out their warehouse of old stock. I’ve also got quite a few pioneers and Indians from ebay. Got to go dig those out.

          • Andy says:

What I’m saying is that to have Ferriot Brothers make NEW figures TODAY would be VERY expensive. People complain about high costs of Russian figures like the Indians they make. I suspect high quality American made sculptings would cost a lot of money.

        • admin says:

CTS went to Ferriot Brothers to do their mold in the beginning of the company. the quality was so bad that they had to go to China to do their molds.

          • Andy says:

There goes my Ferriot Brothers fantasy!!
I still think there old Marx Miners and Trappers are the best toy soldiers ever sculpted.

          • Erwin says:

That is sad andv ironic at same time ,admin!
            Best

        • ed borris says:

I wish I could get $50.00 per figure for Auburn, more like $5.00 a figure if I’m lucky.

          • admin says:

            I am lucky if I get $2.00 a figure.

          • ed borris says:

If you have the first edition figures that were the soft vinyl that are nice , clean and intact, you can get between $3 and $5 for them. The later ones ugh, you almost have to give them away.

          • Erwin says:

I got all Auburn Gis long ago x very low.I got the rubber; then soft plastic after and few of last w exess mold too .
But only kept one each of best done after. They match perfect w Ideal and Jecsan Gis against Elastolin and PH Germans or Jecsan and Comansi Japanese.
            Also w Nardi and CANE.
            Best.

  5. ed borris says:

First sniper I have ever seen made ina Gilly suit, there may be some others, but I’ve never seen them. They are not would call attractive figures.

  6. TDBarnecut says:

Figures and trees represent famous ‘Battle of the giant carrots’.

  7. Erwin says:

The sniper camo looks like meltin snow or icecream!?
And mask as ice hockey .
Wow .I feel bad after all we these we had kicked then hard.
Hope maker read this and wake up.
Any way I thanks Andrey x let us know in good intention.
And admin to post it here too.
    Best…

  8. Andy says:

I wonder who did the sculpting for Austin Miniatures cowboys? I think this is an outstanding set, right up there with old Marx and Auburn and at a good price. No problem with manufacture in China. I also like the size.
