Odds Ends Other Fun  Matters April 2017 Movies

Laurie and I went yesterday to see Beauty and the Beast. The movie has a special place for us as it is one of the movies we saw the year we were dating. Since that time we had seen the Broadway musical twice. We went in seeing how it would be as an live action movie.  all we both can say it was wonderful. I can not fault  anything. Josh Gad as Le Fou is outstanding and I see great career ahead for him.

We went on a Tuesday as the seats were only $5.00! We will see a couple other films together this summer plus I will go films Laurie is not into.  Those are Guardians of the Galaxy Two and Wonder Woman. It looks for a fun time at the movies.

  1. Hi Paul,

I never went to the MFCA Show, how is it? Is there any plastic toy soldiers there?

    Thanks, Mike

MFCA is not as good as it was. Several plastic dealers have dropped out due to the high table. (Their previous location a table costed $110.00 due to peddlar license require by the township it was located in.) I have not been to shows in the last few years. So it will be somewhat a new experience.

      • Thanks, Paul. I am going to try make it, I planning on trying my hand at costuming or converting some figures this year. I started doing that with Playmobil figures, creating some pieces like beards, fur capes and other small things to add. I going to try to do the same with toy soldiers. This show might help me with some products or get some advice from modelers.

        Take Care, Mike

Good or bad, I usually go. Unfortunately, missed the last one or two, due to my health and my late father’s health. New location this year, a little further from me. Between the drive and walking around the show, my recently (and poorly) replaced knees will not permit me the luxury of going to the show. Sadly, same with Gettysburg. If anyone goes to either, let me know hw they were.

Looking forward to “Dunkirk” this Summer!

The pioneers is a crude copied made derivate direct from a pose of ELASTOLIN KARL MAY early western series .
No idea who did it but may be a local-small maker as mold and paint looks very poor .
    my opinion.
    Best…

    Re the figure
I have this and several other Elastolin Wild West copies made in HK.
They are unpainted and slightly smaller, around 65mm.
I think this has been home painted at some point.
