Marx Four Inch Germans

I have not been getting out to the flea markets due to the weather or other commitments. Still when I do get out I am finding surprises. One of the items I turned up recently were four inch Marx Germans.  These figures were done in 1964 in Hong Kong. The figures are copies of their 6 inch figures down size and factory painted.  I know they did also Japanese in the same size. Why they did them in this size I do not know.  Until I picked this and a couple in their original cellophane bags I had seen them one time at a show.  Unpainted copies of these figures have shown up from Mexico.

I swear I had some Marx 3 inch Japanese that were clones of the 6 inch ones with the Marx details on the bottom, but I’ll be darned if I can find them.

I always liked those poses; always wished they’d have done them in 1/32 scale. When Some pantagraphed copies came out about ten or so years ago (can’t keep track of time these days) I snatched them up – even if they were closer to 1/35 scale. Still some beautiful figures. Would like to see someone do them in true 1/32 scale though.

CTS uses four of the Marx 6″ Germans in their German set. I believe they are rock on 54mm too, Stad has a set of the CTS Germans for sale on his e-bay store in tan I believe. (stadsstuff seller name)

You’re right, Ed. I’d forgotten about that and I have several sets myself. I don’t know if it’s old age or the fact I haven’t dragged my WWII stuff out in years. Some great poses.
