Three D Printable Scenary

Three D Printable Scenary we have talked many times on  3D. Right now it is not feasible except for someone has time on on their hands. At Zolocon I talked to party doing giant robot via 3D. He had a 54mm giant robot that took 3 1/2 hours. He larger one that took 3 days.  He was not happy with the plastic as he felt it slowed the process.

That said there is a kickstarter to  make printable scenary for 1/72 scale.  You can read it here. Wargaming

Technology is getting better and faster every year, And the same can probably be said of 3d printing. I know we are not there yet but I still say in the not too distant future 3d printing of Toy Soldiers will happen, And this could possibly be the future of toy soldiers. However it has to get cheaper and faster for that to happen, But who knows 5 to 10 years?

Cool stuff! Now hopefully someone can do a modular 1/32 scale castle walls. Currently there is nothing out there for 1/32 castle walls. The Medieval Church and Western buildings are amazing and the detail inside the saloon isis something out of a Western movie. Look forward to the day this can be done in 1/32 scale. Would a small boat like a Vietnam PBR be do-able in 1/32?

3 hours per figure!?That still very far from reality for production -profit market yet!?
On plastic spool ,there several to choose ,included resin type ,it should be try that way.
It seems Printer used by this person was not top last generation base in his results I think, I had seen much better result.

On WARGAMER ,it does give nice real info, but not production cost per detail. It looks very high price still and only as personal private hobby creativity investmet. For production line it still very far .
I had done ample research with latest technology/machinery in market and not very profitable at all ,neither fast enough in my opinion yet. Unless you willing spend several 10 thousand in last machinery and not think recover that cost but only start production figures/item cost to start.
Funny part it seem a very taboo in US market and European plus Asian far ahead in the development and implementation of the new system versus US industry.
Most providing services and machinery here depend in European Tec to supply here .
    My opinions
    My thoughts.
    best..

It will happen one day. Things are improving in the 3-D printer tech. to make objects printed print faster with better resolution, (detail), and better printing materials and make it more affordable for those like us. It is exciting to think about what we could be making for ourselves in a few years.

Check out this, guys. A very nice looking 3d printed Panzer IV:

    https://3dprint.com/29334/3d-printed-panzer-tank/

The picture where the hand is putting on the axle shows it to be about 1/32 scale or a little larger.

If anyone has a 3d printer you can get the necessary files and see more pictures here:

      I had,funny I’m in same forum too.
There is a Russian that did a T34 a year ago and come much nicer .
I will post link once find it..
But in my case took me hours to get one done, then u have to do a lot cleaning(shave-sand) off a lot. The machine has to do it in parts so u build after, then let intervals to cool off to make other parts.
When you scan ,you have to adjust scanner and fix detail often to get better last image pixle.Otherwise printer will not do deep detail in some areas
Is nice but still very long work.
For my purpose is not good at all yet, way back ,some years ahead may be.
I send to be done at professional Indus- 3D too, same almost result and costly..
      my thoughts
      Best..

The printer that person says used are more cheap now.So more affordable around 2000.
However please any one consider invest should read all reviews .
I had try several from actual makers
But will not say more. You may read more as is not a simple machinery and require a lot constant cleaning and material x that.
You need a good software and fast computer internet as well if want better easy going results.
Scanners are more cheaper and spinning type are best x small toy copies that scan gun style as obget is been photo scan static many times.
    Have fun and good luck.
    Best….

I love the Panzer IV model and design – it is definitely a giant leap forward from what I’ve seen (but I admit I haven’t been following it except casually in spite of my hope for the tech). Right now, I see the ability to create one’s own figures at a reasonable price on the near horizon, figuratively speaking. Considering how quickly the price of printers has dropped in the last few years we might be able to make our own guys sooner than we thought.

  8. Bobby G. Moore says:

It will be exciting when it does happen. Something I dreamed about as a kid, being able to make my own figures in poses I wanted.

  9. Darren Hatley says:

Same here Bobby, There are loads of Great figures from many countrys to buy and collect, But it would be brilliant to make your own figures in whatever era or country you wanted, Especially figures that are not really made in 1/32 scale like Aztec,Inca, Ancient Britains, Medieval Scottish ETC, And in the poses you want them in. As has been said we are not really there yet, But its surely just a matter of time, Perhaps 5 years or so, And it could be very exciting.

    • Bobby G. Moore says:

Yes, it will be great for those who collect and play with WW2,
(Like I collect.), Civil War, ect. that has been done a lot, but it will give the chance to make figures like you said, that no one really makes for guys who have waited years for someone to make them. It will be a win- win for everyone.

Yes please real true Scottish mediaeval ,not BRAVEHEART movie wrong done mix picts with post medieval Scottish kilts that looks like a band of primitive in kilt !!…
I was so annoying seen that at movie..
The EXF peasant armies could well be used for it…Also border wars Scottish soldiers had not been done, neither Irish for XV-XVII wars. That was the so call MONARCH-conquistadores set was intended done for ….

  11. Darren Hatley says:

Yeah Erwin ive always been a bit frustrated that there are No or very few figures from certain eras and countrys that never get made. However there are still some really nice figures coming out of Eastern Europe and Asia lately, And upcoming as we have discussed before so it isn’t all bad. By the way Braveheart is a really good movie but being a proud Englishman I was on the English side in the film Lol.
