New Figures Set Pvblivs Expeditionary Force One More

I had to pick up Laurie at work.  When I arrived she informed me that she would be late.  I went down to Big Lots that is in the same area.  I went in and found a line called Fairy Garden. The line has a few accessories you might be interest in.  Two I saw were a resin wishing well and a resin  foot bridge.

Beautiful figures by PVBLIVS! The chainmail sculpting is very good unlike some of the earlier Medieval figures.
I saw the fairy garden line at Big Lots. I don’t know if it is the same brand but Michaels has a larger collection of this small scale fairy garden items. I was thinking some of the items would go well in a Robin Hood diorama.

  2. Darren Hatley says:

Love these Saxon figures, The detail is Excellent as usual from this company and there are not that many Saxon figures out there so that’s good to see, Its just the price of these Publius figures is quite high and holds me back from buying them. Hopefully they will come down in time.
The Ex-Force Persians look great and they are really expanding these Ancient figures sets which is Great, I especially like the Persian Immortals in long robes that came out recently, I do plan on getting some of these Persian figures sets, Nice start to the year and Ancient figures are right up my street.

  3. Erwin says:

As ussual great sculpting and poses but as long been mention insane price of course.Hope in right plastic.
Unfortunately in last 5 years not a single set from PV has lower. But oposite increased.
Because the so limited run also they become more pricy after few.So these will be always be an exclusive range x exclusively select few who want and can afford it.
EXF as promised last year is going fast a furious releasing.
The persians looks great.I can even see then easy converted for turks or saracen of much later periods too.
    Will definitely get them.
    Best….

  4. Darren Hatley says:

I keep hearing about the plastic of the Publius figures isn’t very good, Why is that, Is it very brittle or what? Also is it hard to repair if it does break, I know that there are some plastics that are very hard to repair and there has been a few occasions where i cannot find a glue that works, Even super glue that usually works on almost anything.

    • Erwin says:

      Well.
The last two indian sets thet did were made in a much better flexible plastic. However I do not have then.
Before that plastic was very bad and as have carry several time them x sale I can attest and had mention many times before that shipping arriving from russian w many figures and their weapons specially complete broken.Even after individual meticulous packing and by secured shipping. Not sea cargo.
Others buyers I know have same problem.
So if they did THESE new Saxons using same new better plastic is good.If not they screw again. As far as to glue back.
Locktive glue should do the job but I had not check how hard they stay.some plastic glue but if touched a bit hard they may come off easy.
      Best…

  5. Tom Black says:

PVBLIVS (Erwin would know better) started to use a harder plastic. The weapons on these figures could easily break. I have only Eng. Bassevitch figures and the plastic is fine. I read that PVBLIVS changed their plastic but on EBay the dealers fail to state if the figures have the new better plastic or the old harder type and that is why I have held off buying their Viking, Normans and 100 Yrs War sets.

  6. Erwin says:

It was in the last shipment of individual wrapped knights and viking/normands I got 23 figures damage.I made a video and photo of how well packed and still brake easy.
Thy claim fix it.they post pictures showing bend ing figures w new soft plastic.
As Tom says ebayers sellers do not specify.
One of main reason I stop carring it was that.
    Best….

  7. TDBarnecut says:

Such a strange inconsistency to produce such highly detailed figures but not establish better quality control in the material they are made of. Makes no sense.

  8. Darren Hatley says:

Ok thanks for the info guys, Ive had my eye on these Publius figures for quite a while and i think they look great and they are the eras that i collect, But as ive stated the main reason i didn’t buy was the price, But if the plastic is rubbish then that’s another reason not to buy, But im glad that they are trying to put that right with better plastic, As it is important that the plastic is of a descent quality and you dont want to keep worrying about them breaking all the time.

  9. Darren Hatley says:

By the way i own the Engineer Basevich Ancient Jews and Assyrians and the plastic is fine and i have no complaints about them at all, Lovely figures.

  10. Mark T. says:

The Saxon Chieftain and the two axemen are incredible. I sure wish Basevich was more affordable. (and that we could be sure of what kind of plastic we are getting.)

    • erwin says:

Pvblivs plastic was the one with issues,EB is not, their plastic is fine ,very early Russian revolution had some issues but they change right after .
By today latest release EB is pretty much affordable, much more than Pvblivs.Their sets are about same as EXF and others in the market now per figure price. EB sets usually bring about 10 to 12 poses for $35.00 USD approx. wile Pvblivs are 5 figures X $40-50.00 approx.EB come with nice box art painted with historical data that add extra protection too;Pvblivs are plain in clear bag if any.

  11. Darren Hatley says:

If I win the lottery Erwin I will buy 2 sets.

  12. ed borris says:

Wow, $10.00 per figure if you count shipping.

    • erwin says:

Darren ,yes as we all had spoke is true, bit heck expensive.
I had several time bring lots x resale ,more in the recover and help pass to collect, not profit taken, in fact I had sold most lower than Russian sellers.
but with plastic silly fragility of early sets I realize not worth.
my time limited and every time less time x packing and shipping.
If you win lotter I bet I can get a gift from you!!!LOL!!

      • erwin says:

Yet I announce Alex as good Russian seller for any who want and can affords buy, he is a very great person and my main supplier from Russian, he ship fast and professional all. Recommended him to he core.
        Also Andrey as well …

      • Darren Hatley says:

Erwin seeing as its you, If i won the lottery i would buy 3 sets of these figures from you, Lol.
Yes ive also brought from this Russian guy and a few others on ebay and ive had no problems at all, So i can testify also how good sellers they are mate.

  13. Darren Hatley says:

Yeah really nice figures but a bit expensive for many collectors a would suspect, Thank God not all the figures coming out of Eastern Europe are this pricey.

  14. I got the Viking Sets #2 and #3 last year. The plastic was like the Conte Vikings, but a little harder. I was happy with them, great sculpting. I wish the price was lower, but I had to get them. I just purchased 2 of the Saxon sets from the same seller that I got the Vikings from.
