Greg Liska’s Latest Confederate Conversions

greg-4-2 greg-3 greg-1 greeg-2Greg Liska’s Latest Confederate Conversions are Greg’s newest conversions, Greg is a big fan of the American Civil War.  I will let him tell you what he did.

I picked up a load of AIP ACW figures. I especially like the Confederate Infantry. I converted the pose with the kepi on backwards, biting paper cartridge and firing w/ no hat by adding slouch hats. They came out looking very natural.  The Federal ‘Marines’ were different. 3 poses had optics on the rifles. I got rid of most of that and added bayonets to the rifles, which added to their appearance tremendously. They are of course now metallic blue, too. The pics show all of this mixed in with my 60mm figures. AIP figures seem to just go well with 60mm figures. They are 54 to 56mm on their own, but they are thicker and seem to blend right in with the bigger figures.  I’ve also got a shot of my Timmee cowboys that became advancing Confederate Infantry. I’ve done things to make each one a little different.

Again interesting quick fast idea and conversion.
practical as usual. Great job again Greg.
I notice as far I can tell as picture is far view that Marx 60 mm blend well with 54 mm AIP ,least in picture view .So another good point that some times not same scale could blend well if we are not too picky.
    Awesome!!!

Good looking figures but picture resolution too low to see any details. Maybe you can resend the pictures but larger files?

The problem might be on my side as I am using my back up computer. The computer I am presently using is so out of date. I hoping for it tomorrow but I am not holding my breath. I redo the photos once get old computer back in.

Firstly, thank you all for the kind words.
I’m not sure about the pic resolution. It just may be on Paul’s side. I used the camera I always use.
There are some guys that are ‘big’ in there, but when they are all the same color and placed in a formation, you really can’t tell. In my set there are; Warriors of the World, Timmee, Andy Gard, the ‘BMC’ guys that were most recently put out, Reamsa, MPC ringhands, Rel and AIP in my 60mm ACW set. More than half of the Confederates are converted figures, the Feds might be about 15% conversions.

What!! No General to lead the Confederate charge?

    • erwin says:

I think the Confederate high ranking officer are in the back as they are waiting holding line not charging. Unions are the ones charging!!!!
Top picture is in angle of large line advancing with officer seen in bottom firing line corner coming from side back or else!?
      My guess…

  6. bill nevins says:

Erwin First pic is CSA charging. They need General Sal Lade to lead them.

      Bill.I know.
But picture/photo is a section close up of entire line.I’m sure he is there.
I think Greg just did the close up of few soldier of the charge to show the conversion. That is what I meant.
Also in botton firing reb line in corner show what appear to be an officer waving a sword that maybe is the one in charge of charging line above not see complete!
Just saying…Greg may have the location of him.
      Best….
      🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

Erwin, you apparently have sold out your “No-name” Russian-made Romans. Do you know another source — like maybe “Andray’s” website address in Russia? I can’t seem to find it on the Internet, even though I’ve been on it before.
