Plex Star War Figures

Todd Neeson found some plastic Star War figures that were not made by Hasbro. These figures  are made by Plex of Japan.  I let Todd tell you more about  Plex Star War Figures.
Plex Star War Figures
I recently found some plastic storm troopers that were released in Japan by a company called Plex. There are 4 different poses available and they have been released in two waves(that I have found). The first wave has two shooters, one standing and one kneeling. The second wave has a standing trooper and an advancing one. Both waves also have 2 “rare” figures that you can get when you pick up a box. For the first wave, you can get two different poses of Darth Vader while the second set provides the opportunity to get C3PO and R2D2.
Plex Star War Figures
The figures come in a box of ten with the opportunity for a bonus “rare” figure. The figures themselves are light weight plastic but feel very solid. They are 55 mm in height and match up well with the Hasbro Star Wars Command line though the Plex ones are not quite as bulky. I particularly like the fact that the Plex standing shooter has a longer rifle than the Hasbro standing shooter since that gives some nice variety to the weapon mix.

If anyone is interested in purchasing them they can be found at thebigbadtoystore.com for 10 dollars a box. Just search Star Wars Best Show Series.

Final Thoughts

Todd has found figure the collectors of the Hasbro Star Wars Command sets will be happy to see. That is because the Plex Star War Figures  will give them more figures for their displays.  The price for Plex Star War Figures is very reasonable and you can get  from a source in the states.  I am sure people will be buying Plex Star War Figures .

Any how it is x all to share
I’m wondering how popular is the series of the men…!?
I’m not are all fan of it so not clue.

            Erwin,
I understand from reading some sources on the Internet, that they made 3,000 sets of M.O.F.O.s and that 2,700 approximately were sold at SDCC. So I would say they were quite popular with the attendees at the Con.
A friend contacted ‘Bigbadtoys’ about ordering some more sets and was told they had no intention of re-stocking, but since they sold out at the store this didn’t make any sense.
I am not a fan yet of the series as I haven’t actually seen any of the animation but I am of the figures which have some excellent detail and very well designed by a computer for almost seamless joints.
I would think that this company would consider bringing out more sets because they marked the header card ‘Series 001’ and with their launch being so successful. Also noted that their are pose designs shown on that link you provided that aren’t in the first set.
What do you know about the figures shown on that ‘Spectoys’ link, are they 54-60mm or smaller and who is producing them ? They look interesting.
            Regards,
            Les

          • admin says:

            Les
the figures on the link Erwin gave are war game size so you are talking 25mm. you could check and see if they will do them any larger.

          • Erwin says:

Les.this respond is direct to u.so we don’t get mix here.
I know they are very well designed.
Intersting in sales.not bad at all.
I think one link I post is of the guy who design it.
The other link are 28 to 40 mm figures.
Now do not call me as I’m not blogger there.
U need to ask them.it is blog for 3D designers in the computer and animate figures.I’m not good on that ,I post it as I’m bombarded every day in my blogs and facebook w links from every body.So I pass you guys so u can ask or investigate better.
I think they can do all those figures in the scale they like.
I agree they should do more aperantly it was a trial.
Let see in future and u can ask the one guy about next series. He should know I will guess.I’m not in to it as off my collection and if I continued I will soon collecting japanese animated figures and dolls.Way too much out there.
About star wars plastic unpainted japanese figures, other japanese brands had done more, but not imported to europe or US I guess.I will pass links later.
            Best..

I’ve got 4 unopened blisters of the Hasbro figures.

  5. erwin says:

Clarification. The toy company distributing and selling them is HAPIPINET.
That is what the Japanese word said in front.http://www.happinet.co.jp/english/company/history/index.html.

The cases are belong to toy company from Japan named . Happinet. This company first explicitly produced movie related toys in not candy or chocolate toy lines .Company was funded in 1969 and become incorporated in 2001 ,it is direct distributed the main retailer hobby/game/toy Japanese stores ,also Korea,HK and others.
Currently Happinet is involved in the toy wholesaling industry, video software distribution business, distributor of video game hardware and software, and amusement business (selling toy vending machines and the products they contain)
These sets come in 2014/2015 as Asian competition to Hasbro commanders sets in order to avoid imports productions fees and typical Japanese producing their own toys. The line did only 6 sets/waves and stop in 2015.
PLEX is the designer of many toy companies in japan, they specific design-made only for toy companies any historical character ,toy, game or animate/film character they ask for to do. It is classical Japanese way that toys had the designer branded also separated from the toy company in same pack.
These set had been all over eBay in past two years. Because I do not collect Stars wars I never thought mentioned before and apologize x it.
You can buy direct from japan and also more easy as you guys are more use to on eBay, here ONE seller links.
“Please buy with confidence from japan, but if using economic shipping be ready x long wait and need to use Japanese mailing tracking (ask buyer x it)”

  6. erwin says:

Happinet as far I know and saw did based in films and TV US western popular …(galactic ) series with figures in same scale,Aliens(2)”aliens poses were bigger-60mm ,Predator 45/50 mm(later copied by odd Russian company in no all poses) “ I had few of those and will look x pictures and Gundam Zeon army robots and federation forces in action poses in same range in 4 different packs in exact same scale as star wars figures in green and blue colors.
All but Gundam are hard to find now, you can still google in eBay or amazon x Japanese sellers with them .
When you google use the name brand HAPPINET =like -(HAPPINET star wars best show) or
(NORA star wars best show) ….Not PLEX please.
    NORA ,is a comic,games,TV memorabilia/collectible products distributor.

  7. erwin says:

I also got few star wars Hasbro redone-assort poses sets/lots left on my store and eBay x sale, in case any one is looking x it.

  8. ed borris says:

What’s your e-bay id that yous sell under?

  9. Ed Borris says:

    Thanks.

  10. Joe says:

Just received my box of series 2 stormtroopers today that I ordered from a Japanese seller on amazon. I spent only about five dollars for shipping and received them in about a week. Now that’s awesome service!!! These are really great little figures that I didn’t know about and I’m glad someone decided to post this topic in the forum. I really like my Hasbro ones but kind of wish they would have gone this route with more poses for a particular subject i.e., stormtroopers, hoth rebel soldiers, ect. Can someone tell me if these are the only two Star Wars sets that Plex produced? It would be great to have other rebel and imperial forces to complement the Hasbro Command figures. I didn’t get a C-3PO or R2D2 figure in my sealed box so I’m assuming that “rare” means that not every box is going to have one of the two figures. I can’t read much of the box to know for sure. Anyway, these are really awesome little guys that I would recommend to any fan of Star Wars and/or 54mm figure collector!!!

    • erwin says:

      Joe .
I reply to your questions with a large email but because has links and web site usually take time as admin had explained before…sorry
P.S; contact seller ASIP and or amazon if not response from seller open a claim, the two figures should be inside, it said so in Japanese in the box very clear. Unless the seller specify it was removed.
In amazon you are better protected than direct buy from other sites…

      • les White says:

        Joe
I’ve had several of these sets #1 and #2, factory sealed outside and sealed bags inside with 11 Stormtroopers and no Rare character figures. It is my understanding that they are packaged ,as a lot of the Japanese collectables are. to entice you to buy more to get the Rare figures.
There is also a product from another company ,a ‘bucket of stormtroopers’ packaged in a container which has a Death Star lid , it container 15 troopers in one pose and a Darth Vader. I haven’t seen it offered outside Japan yet. The figures are the same size as these.

        • erwin says:

          Les
The outer box said so ,they should include it, but some times by factory distribution made well happen.
Japanese toy cases generally are not clear plastic wrapped and easy to I open remove figure too.it happen as some seller will do $ out that too. Could well be the case. Some times a repeated not surprise figure come instead too.
I have the same company Happinet -Predator set and Gundam /2014 set from same company, both come correct with surprise figures inside as stated.
I had many times bought Japanese stores in my trips to Japan in 2008/14 and when stated I always revised-open it in store before leave.
Japanese employers look at me odd when I do it, but once I explain the have a lough and understand. They though I was looking x candy/chocolate inside as many people think many Japanese toys come with in inside
I had not order star wars as not fan off.

I was out on some errands and as soon as I got back and I started the machine up I saw the email and posted it. Askimet protects the site from Spam. It will hold if there are a lot of links or mark as spam. I check the spam filter several times a day as a person’s legitimate email will occasionally drop in there. Has not happen in awhile.

        • erwin says:

Yes thanks admi,I know ,not problem at all, better sure than have issue, good protection in that way .I agree.
I just post the reply short to let him know Joe another much longer with a lot Japanese web site stores with links come too.

  11. erwin says:

Joe ,the maker of sets is HAPPINET Plex
Plex is a designer of figures as I explain before in this blog.Still some called by it.
A bit confused ,many Japanese toys have to write every single one involved as japan is very hard in license violation with laws. So the names of all involved in making has to be label. As the name (Nara best show) in top case is after the TV show name from city of NARA that run all cartoons, film, games base in films heroes else for teens 13 and up in Japan 24/7 in TV and streem internet.
Still either c name used x the sets of course.
    Any how, about your question..
They only did two full sets boxes in star wars, some times sold individual as surprise bling mini bags assorted.
The robots are sometime not included in all cases, but is odd you did not get it.Next time ask seller x it ,so they check case before send, Japanese seller often are very generous and nice to my large experience with them.
In 2014 they “Happinet” and designed by PLEX too sold two full sets of Gundam armies, both sides-armies. Robot types in exact same size as star wars storm troopers.
Before Happinet released few other base in others previews SF films ,now considered collectibles as these sets are limited run and them after years ,not more made.

here are other Japanese stores that still carry them …

  13. erwin says:

In fact any small Japanese small corner store in “little Tokyo”,NYC carry a lot toys from Japan.I remember visit them as least two were next to US vintage toy antique stores, both close down wile Japanese toys are bumming as ever. I felt sad x other two as once a wile carry toy soldiers and else, but because dedicated to old generation were every year less visited wile Japanese toy stores are x mid to juniors most .

  14. erwin says:

Sorry i’m using this old post to post this .
Following figures are being sold as set from China direct.I have then and original come in Gashapon capsules.Apparently this sellers and others got hand in overstock or else with mist sets poses and selling in group x deal.To any STAR wars fan i think are interesting.
Figures are about 1.35 scale and come split in few [parts easy to plug together as typical surprise toy ,material is PVC type .
