Rare Heimo Boxes on Ebay Germany
Our very good friend Peter Bergner clued us in on that there were three rare Heimo boxes on Ebay Germany up for sale. Even more exciting the three rare Heimo boxes are load with mint never played with figures. One had Indians, another had cowboys and the third box had knights. The figures were the Marx molds that had been sent to Germany for their company Charmore and then as pointed out by over good friend Denitz in his article on his site. Heimo bought some of the molds and the equipment. Denitz that Heimo also got some of the left over stock of Charmore which included figures marked Germany.
The boxes
The boxes themselves are quite interested for the artwork and the information on the box. The top of the box show various representations of the various figures that Heimo sold. All of these figures had been done by Marx original in the United States.
This photo shows the one side with drawing of a knight and a pirate.
This side shows the mounted bandit and horse. It also gives the information on each of the boxes and their catalog number. No. 58735 is for the cowboys and the box has 25 mounted cowboys and 25 horses. No. 58395 id for the Indians and the box has 25 mounted Indians and 25 horses. Finally no. 58465 is the knights and they have fifty pieces.
The final side shows a Roman.
The Cowboys
What is so nice about this listing Bernd of westernfigurenparadies has taken the time to layout each of the boxes so you can see the mix. In the cowboy box we find that despite saying 25 riders with horses, the set has five foot figures. The five foot poses are cowboy walking with lasso, cowboy with pistol at side, cowboy punching, cowboy walking with hands at side and cowboy with whip. The mounted cowboy poses are cowboy waving with hat, cowboy with lasso, cowboy bandit firing backwards and cowboy sheriff. The box a total of 55 pieces.
The Indians
The box of Indians contains only mounted figures. The poses are Indian with spear, Indian with two clubs and Indian firing bow. The box contains 25 mounted Indians with horses.
The Knights
The knights contains mounted and foot knights. There is only one mounted figure knight with lance. The foot poses are knight with mace, knight pointing, knight standing with sword, knight with shield and sword back and the Knight advancing with sword and shield. This last pose was based on the Black knight from Prince Valiant character set. The boxes have 56 pieces if you count the lances. This box has the only damaged piece of the lot.
The one final question is the figures in the Heimo boxes are they from the Charmore overstock or later production, The answer is they are from the Heimo period. The way we can tell is by the paint style and the material is rubber like material. The giveaway is the horses are on bases. The Charmore version are hard plastic.
If you are interested in these figures you can bid here. We would like to thank Bernd of westernfigurenparadies234 for his permission to share these photos with you. Bernd has come up with many interesting Timpo items.
Some of the mounted poses were never done x umpainted series in the US.
Only done in this painted german verssion.
Erwin
You are right on that The sheriff, Indian firing bow and Indian with two clubs were never done here in the states.
I also have all the German knight version, but not with nice green base. Interesting the made a nice base for the horses and the knights were made out of different mold too
The helmet heads were changed in many poses ,cross add to armor surface/texture of figure, not painted only, that only one main knight character from unpainted Marx has.
The Valiant prince not depicted here has a helmet in head contrary to non painted Marx version with out helmet. The knights HEIMO figures have are rubber type material, not hard plastic.
Erwin
The soft plastic version has to have a base to hold it up. Yes Marx change the head on the Prince Valiant figure. That way they did not have to pay rights. The Heimo is an interesting variation to add to your Marx collection.
Sold $212 US I guess!!
Somebody got a great deal
