Very sorry to hear it. I knew Barry wasn’t at OTSN 3 months ago, and he was always a regular there. I noticed his obituary said he was a world traveler, a historian, active in the American Legion, owner and operator of the Knightstown Antique Mall, and the promoter of the Indiana Toy Soldier Show for the past 27 years.

Never met or see him.But every time any good fellow collector pass we should prey and paid respect least x a minute to honor
his legacy and will of keeping our hobby alive.May he be remember x ever and my condolences to his family and friends.
One good less here. One good star to remember.

Erwin says it well, the death of a collector affects us all, particularly one who did so much to promote the hobby. We are all a bit poorer for his loss. Let us hope someone steps forward to keep his legacy going.

  4. I met Barry only once – on a Saturday in Indiana, when I brought two of my girls up for the pre-show. Tremendous, sad loss to the hobby. The show itself, I understand, is continuing under different auspices over in Lafayette?

My partner once screwed up the MapQuest Directions and we ended up at Barry’s house. So, I would always give Barry a hard time and tell him if if he didn’t give us a good table I know where he lives. He’ll be missed. Steve Conlon, Connell ( I forget), Rick Keller and Rick Lipp will be running the show in Lafayette, maybe others I don’t know.

  6. Mike Kutnick says:

Barry was always a gracious host at his shows, no matter what the hotel screw ups were.He was always smiling and ready with a friendly (? ) insult. Yes, I was the one that screed up the driving directions. Barry never let me forgot about it. At last year’s show he said he went out of his way to get us prime rooms…at the airport.
    He will be missed.

  7. Bill Lango says:

Above all Barry was a true gentleman.
