Hogan Heroes Set

Our very good friend Brian Johnson spotted this  item on Ebay the Hogan’s Heroes Set by  Harmony. Sadly the figures are generic WWII Germans. As to the price, it is another one for Rusty to post in Playset Magazine.

    why that insane price!?

$700.00 for a bunch of Hong Kong Airfix Afrika Korps and US Infantry knockoffs… Wow. Did someone actually buy them?

It has to be the packaging. PT Barnum said it best – there’s one born every minute.

You hit the nail on the head. The person thinks because of the header card it is worth big money. Sadly this item is one of the many rack toys that was put out tied to a television show. These items were usually generic items.

  4. JUNK. Airfix recasts with a Hogans Heroes heder. Hell, I could make one myself!

  5. Greg Liska says:

Not even recasts. Extremely crappy copies. Big difference. At any rate, the only way THAT would be worth $700 is if you included 7 one hundred dollar bills in the bag.

  6. Andy Keliar says:

It now says “This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available.” Someone who had to have it must have paid him big money to end auction early???? You’ll know who if it turns up at OTSN next month!!! Or maybe Sgt. Schultz bought it?!? Someone can “ask seller a question” about it, but he’ll probably say: “I KNOW NUUUUUUUTHING!!!”

  8. Mark T. says:

Strange how most of those toys came out in the mid-70s, a decade after Hogan’s Heroes ran on Television.
Bob “Hogan” Crane was murdered in 78 and all those Harmony toys came out the year before. Maybe the murder wasn’t tied in to kinky sex after all. Maybe someone was angry about paying 59 cents a bag for a bunch of cruddy Airfix clones?

  9. Greg Liska says:

Now THERE’S a solid motive! That murder could be solved yet!
