Susy Goose Supermarket Playset

There is a Susy Goose Supermarket Playset on EBay for $45,000.00. That right’s $45,000.00 is the asking price., the party thinks it is the rarest playset.  I have the link below.  Only thing I will say I have gotten the figures over the years and they sell. I notice one I have never seen the sitting boy.  We thank our friend Bill Nevins for alerting us to it.

ok who is going to bid !!
    come on guys!!
    WOW!!!
    Is that for real!?

  2. Bill Nevins says:

Quite honestly, I wouldn’t take it if you offered it to me for free.
    That’s a girls toy.

Sorry, but that’s how I look at it. Same thing with GI Joe’s. Those are dolls, dressed up in army uniforms.
Boys my age (over 60) played with plastic army men, cap guns and baseball mitts.

It’s too late to change now.

I’m much younger and think same way about GI Joe’s. Beside how you play a battle with them, you need a lot of them=lot of money, them start making and dressing them out. I thought soldiers dress themselves!!.
It was in may era, but no way I like them, still others love it. About SG play set..No way I will pay it if I ever have that money to trash out. I think toys have a value but that value go beyond logic in my way of looking. Still there some that will waste that and much more..no wonder this world is run by rich!!

The only way I’d touch it (for a LOT less money) was if there was some way I could convert it for a battleground. That’s what I did with the Marx Service Station I got one year – it became a command post and strong point for my armies. Just the way I rolled.

As far as GI Joes, I think I mentioned elsewhere I had a couple of Matt Hazards and GI Joes but didn’t like them; gave them to my little brother and went back to the REAL action – toy soldiers.

As a child my gas station was used a bank, a villain’s hideout, a main government building, a fort plus much more. In my play room it was on a table fully built and I had lots of fun with it.

It would be OK in an “Untouchables” set up.But you have to wonder how much of the little ‘Produce vegetable pieces etc’ have survived’ the years but I’ll wait till I find one at a Garage Sale for 5 Bucks.

I agree with you, Brian. This would go well with Marx Untouchables and also add in a Marx Skyscraper Playset and a bunch of tin litho Japanese vehicles. If not fussy over exact scale, Plasticville & Littletown buildings and electric trains would create quite a nice town.

  6. The ebay seller is known for their high prices. The shopper family is the set also came in the Susy Goose motel play set. the “father’s” hands were sculpted to carry suitcases.

interest on the father figure. It is one I find the most. If would have had him as a child he would have been my Frankenstein instead the MPC Matt Dillon
The grocery store clerk is a copy of a Johillco lead figure.
