In Chicago it is a mortal sin to put ketchup on a hot dog, I have in fact seen people been refused service for requesting ketchup on a hot dog. Some of the hot dog stand guys can get a bit crabby.

Yes I know Chicago gets touchy if do not want it their way. Laurie like her hot dogs with ketchup and mustard. I like my hot dog with mustard, onions and relish. We even used different mustards, Laurie like French’s where I like Gulden’s.
Each area has there place for hot dogs. For Allentown it is Yocco’s. They do their hot dog with mustard, onions and sauce. In Bethlehem only about ten miles away it is Pott’s, which I never had as I rarely eat hot dogs when I am out.

Weiner, bun, mustard, onion, chili, and COLE SLAW. HMMMM!!! The only way I ever eat one.

Yes many different styles to enjoy. In part of New Jersey they have the ripper where if I remember it boiled until cracks the skin.

  3. Every year when I arrive in Schaumburg for OTSN, before I set foot at the Hyatt I go to the closest Portillos and get me a Chicago hot dog, the best.
