Back in the day every Summer my parents took me to a Service Club Picnic that was held at the Peace Arch Park that was on both sides of the Border.I always looked forward to this as there was a Newberry’s 5 and Dime store on the US side whose Toy Dept was a Treasure Trove to me and where I could get my yearly supply of a bag of Timmees GI’s.This was when you could just walk across the Border through the Park and just wave at the US Border Guard and he just waved back unlike the Iron Curtain you have to get through now. Anyway 1 year they had the Peco GI’s and I must have done some some great whining as 29cents was a LOT of money for 1 figure. I got the “Running” figure.who acquired the name Sammy(becuz he was bought in US Uncle Sam get it?).I remember his helmet and rifle didn’t last long but his belt survived.Because of his size compared to all my 54-60MM guys he was assigned as the Bouncer at my Toy Toy Saloon but Sammy couldn’t hold his Molsons which resulted in some epic Bar Room brawls.I never missed “Dodge City” when it aired on Western Theatre. It usually took a whole squad of Timmee Navy Shore Patrol figures to get Sammy under control.I can’t remember what his ultimate fate was but I think my Mother had something to do with it,LOL.A few years ago I discovered another running figure at a Garage Sale without any equipment who now lives on one of my Book shelves with some other survivors of the Great Firecracker Wars.

I had a fictional country too as a child with a president, good guys and bad guys. My favorite was Marx pioneer with a flintlock pistol, he started off as a villain and turned good guy. Lots of fun

thank Brian for bring up and sharing the funny and beautiful child tale of yours. It has some nostalgic but same time make us wonder and think of those great moment in our life when all was quite to enjoy- learn. Interesting the US/CA border comparison. Sad but true.
Adm :how far our dreams went back then in our games and PLAY eh!!
Are you referring to 60 mm pioneer with flintlock in one had and black powder horn in other!?

I saw it as a pouch as child and called him Messenger Man. When I got the version of the 60mm Pioneer with a pistol I called him Letter Man. LOL I was not good then making up names for my figures.
