Airplane 35 Years

Mark Evanier has this link up on his site News From Me  on the oral history of Airplane. I remember going to see this movie with my very good friend Les.  I lost it when they said put all the lights on the field. So if you are into Airplane enjoy.

One Response to Airplane 35 Years

Paul, a great article that brought back some great memories of a great movie. I laughed so hard I had some tears in my eyes reading some parts – particularly talking about Leslie Nielson and his machine. I saw him pull that gag on Johnny Carson one night until Carson made him give it up. Then he pretended (I hope he was pretending) to sulk until Johnny gave it back. What a treasure!

Like the article said, no one ever realized how funny he was until “Airplane!” I didn’t realize he played “Swamp Fox” on Disney until I saw a rerun a few years back – one of my favorite shows as a kid. Talk about casting against historical type… but that was Nielson before that movie. Thanks for sharing this one Paul – you’ve hit another one out of the park.
