Update on Greg’s Thomas Romans

100_5189100_5296Greg Liska sent an update on his Thomas Roman project.

Thanks to a lot of people, I’ve just about got this all together! I need one more swordsman to convert to make the row of archers complete. The extra whip guys are now Slingers. I’m not going to touch them. A little imagination won’t hurt.

Notice the archers now have a quiver of arrows mounted across their backs. That took more work than is worth explaining. I’m happy with the results, though.

Thanks, guys. The quivers are Playmobil quivers, cut in half and then glued down with gap filling cement. The arrows actually ARE inserted. One at a time! Half are the Playmobil arrows and the rest are cocktail spears modified.
I have to mention this: Ed Borris and Mike Kutnik decided to GIVE me what Thomas Toy Romans they had. I have the last batch arriving. I will have my 4th man to convert as an archer, a second chariot and I now have 2 damaged whip guys who are going to become action poses with sword and shield. I can’t thank these guys enough for this wonderful generosity.

No problem that’s what this hobby should be about helping each other. We’re a small enough group, might as well keep it as a cooperative group.
