Rubenstein Soldiers of the World New color

Recently in Plastic Warrior Magazine there was series of articles and letters over the Soldiers of the World. These figures representing different periods of history were first used as cereal giveaways in Europe and Australia. The figures were later sold in the United States by Rubenstein. The figures were sold in the United States  in gold and silver.  As cereal giveaways in Europe they were done blue and red. Now we have a new color white.  Where they were done in this color I do not know.  Just another mystery to solve.

I have found these figures in both blue and cream (not white) in a recently acquired collection.
The cream figures are in a vinyl type plastic, while the blue are the regular polypropylene. The figures came mixed, both blue and white, in the same bag of two poses. I have 10 or 12 of the poses in both colors.

Also found in this collection are copies of the Marx Robin Hood figures scaled down to 45 mm with the word “CANADA” stamped where the Marx logo is usually is found. These are in multi colors and were believed to be made by Rubenstein.

Rubenstein is an interesting little compny that not much is known about. Who sculpted these figures? Where were they sold? Does anyone else have them in these or different colors?

A few photos were sent to Stad. If he chooses to use them, he has my blessing.

Rubenstein was a company that bought figures from around the world and repackaged them for resale. Many of the figures had been used as cereal premiums. The Robin Hood figures had been in Sugar Frosted flakes in the United States. The Soldiers of the World were in cereal in several different countries. Many of the figures were made by RL who was in Australia then the molds ended up in Mexico where they may still be run today.
Here is an article on RL premiums.
