DelawareToy Show

Last Sunday Laurie and I went to the Delaware Toy Show in New Castle, Delaware. This a great toy show where we always find a few items for the collection and resale. Afterwards we  stop at an authentic Mexican restaurant that is part a local farmers market.

One reason I like this show is we get a few dealers we do not see up our way. This time we found a dealer who was selling various plastic figures and pieces. One of the items I picked up was this river boat.  I like the condition of the piece and Laurie like it too. Laurie has gotten good over the years and can recognize the figures various companies made.  On the river boat she surprised me by saying it is Renwal.  I thought it was by Banner, when I photographed it I discovered on the top that it was Renwal. Laurie said she felt it was Renwal due to the quality. So in the future I will trust her judgment.

Nest time you go to New Castle, try Jessup’s Tavern for a meal. It is a pseudo colonial tavern, décor is pushing it a bit, but the food is excellent. If you are a beer drinker, they have an excellent selection of beers (or did the last time I was there).

Thank you for the suggestion, right now we only get to the New Castle area twice a year and Laurie wants her Mexican food when we go to New Castle. She worked for a number of years for a travel wholesaler and got to visit Mexico through the company. She got to experience true Mexican food. She fell in love with this place we found as food is authentic Mexican not the Tex Mexican you find in most places.
Aside note, neither of us like beer, we do like wine. We also like hard cider, but prefer the cider we get in England as it does not have the chemicals.
