You Never Know

You never know when a plastic figure will pop up in a television show or a movie. This weekend on Doctor Who, a plastic figure played an important part in the episode “Listen”. The figure used was an Airfix original WWII British Infantry standing firing minus his rifle.  Having the figure missing his rifle is deliberate to the story line.  It is not explain in this episode, but I have a feeling it should be in a future episode.

That is curious Paul. I ran into something on ebay that was also curious. Someone is selling motorized Ben Hur chariots., they even have links from the listing to you tube video’s on them having a race around a huge colosseum. Its actually very neat, they are all painted and its really cool, if you guys, get a chance ya’ll should check them out.

You can also type in a search on you tube, motorized Ben Hur Chariot race, to see these video’s.

The toy soldier aspect in the latest Doctor Who is part of the producer laying down subtext of the current Doctor’s personality. His distrust of the military. We have met his soon to be new companion, unknowingly. A male teacher from the school where Claria teaches. He is a troubled vet, haunted by his actions that lead to the deaths of civilians as a member of the British army. Prior to this, in the second new episode the Doctor is very dismissive, and a bit curt to the military force that he is working with in that episode. Typical of the latest Who canon, anti establishment, diversity for diversity s sake, socaicl engineering.
