Toy R Us True Legends

tr2

Toy R Us is selling a set called True Legends. The set contains  72  pieces. The set has seven different fantasy figures, which include two female sorcerers and female warrior.

tr6

The figures are  45 to 50mm, the photo below shows they will mix in nicely with 54mm figures.

tr8

The set comes with a nice set of accessories. In the next picture you will a stand and the dragon.

tr1

There  is a bridge that will be nice in any period of time. The only negative with the bridge is the arch is too high.

The picture on the tub shows four candlesticks that go on the bridge’s steps. I have a picture of one of the candlesticks with the three figures. The set has trees and two columns with shields on them. Each shield has a different design

tr3

The last accessory is four low walls which are all different. Tese walls could be used in any historical period.

tr7

I will try to get sizes up of the accessories in the near future.  All in all a nice little set for $10.00 which has endless possibilities.

They actually fit right in with 54mm. That is pretty cool. The bridge detail is pretty nice. It almost looks like marble. I like female warrior figures. The one dual wielding the 2 swords is right up my alley. I wonder why no one has done figures like Beowulf, or Conan playsets in 54mm-70mm size range. It would be great if they did them like the Playalong figures.

Beowulf is the oldest written story in English history. It was the first translated story from the Saxons. It is said it also was based on Legend, so there is some truth to the story. I also heard what some archeologists believe to be Ragnar’s great meade hall was recently found in Denmark (within last 5 years anyway). They said it had the same dimensions as in the story, and was from the approximate correct time as well.

Great find Paul, thinks for the heads up on this also.

They also do pirates and medieval knights as well.

The True Legends Pirate set has re issue Fencible skeleton warriors in cream plus some reissue unpainted Fencible Pirates [ about 45mm in size] and the two small Fencible garrison carriage cannons and some very neat accessories. The cannons are very useful as small four pounders for your ships. The skeletons can be used in a fantasy Sword & Sorcery playset . All in all a good bargain for about $10.00. The painted Fencible pirates and the small canoons used to be available through The Toy Soldier Company.

I quickly glanced at the pirate set and pass due to having the skeletons from a different set. I did not see the knight set.

Its too bad they don’t make their figures larger though. I might have bought some then. The accessories are still decent however. Did anyone ever buy the big Zizzle Black Pearl pirate ship. It was really cool, has all kinds of features, and is very large, I got one on ebay
for a very low price, it was near mint, in perfect condition, and came with all kinds of extra stuff. That was probably the best deal I have run into on ebay, at least one of them.

That ship is exceptional for 54mm-70mm figures.

I too picked up a Zizzle ship on ebay, nice detail, love the skeleton decor. Added to the Playmobil, 2 large Supreme ships, and Barzso pirate set, makes for lots-o-fun.

As per the other discussion, the True Legends figure line seems to be on the way out. The Warriors and Knights buckets are no longer available on TRU. If you missed them, sorry.
