Toy Hunter Superhero Sanctury

This episodes opens with Jordan at his store where he receives a call  from Allen Stewart who has the  Hall of Heroes. Hall of Heroes building  front is based on the Hall of Justice that was in Super Friends. The Hall of Heroes  has one of the largest collection of super heroes and toys.  Allen is looking for some unusual  items for his collection.  Before Jordan can leave John comes in to get an appraisal on toys from his grand father. One item is Batman Mystery Batmobile which Jordan values at $800.00. Jordan tries to  buy it but the person wants to keep it.  I could not find any examples on EBay.

Jordan and Dave head off to find items. They go first to Len and Aaron  son and father.  Len’s father has a massive collection of Master of Universe pieces. The collection has a lot  of great items, unfortunately they are not in the great shape. either the figures are off the card or the box  is missing  proof of purchase.  One of the items is Fright fighter which was Skeltor’s ship. Jordan figures it is worth $150.00.  On the EBay loose versions range from $105.00 to $149.00. Mint sealed versions  are listed at $299.00 and $449.00. Jordan buys the whole lot for $6250.00.

Jordan does not find any items for Allen, so he goes to James, who is a big Superman collector. They go to the attic and the first item they find is  Madison Superman Marionette Display. Jordan feels it is worth $1000.00. A mint version is being offered on EBay at $1499.00 and one in less condition $425.00. The next item that Jordan finds are Super Friends model sheets which Jordan pays  $50.00. There are several lots of model sheets up for auction up on EBay starting at $9.99.  The final item that Jordan finds a Fawcett Captain Marvel Plastic Statue . The figure is near mint and its box is in excellent condition.  Jordan pays $1000.00, which he hopes to sell to Allen for $1800.00. Looking at EBay, I found two similar figures in the same condition Mary Marvel and Captain Marvel Junior statues, both were available for $800.00 each.  The two Marvel figures were being offered by David Welch the author of Collecting Pez. David noted that at one time the set of four (Captain Marvel, Captain Marvel Junior, Mary Marvel and Marvel Bunny) sold for as high as $25,000.00. Today the price is much less, which may have been due to a find in the 1990’s.

The last section is Jordan going to the Hall of Heroes to meet with Allen. Jordan has three items  to show Allen the Super Friends model sheets, a Super Friends Puzzle, which was not shown on the show that Jordan paid $20.00 and was hoping for $35.00 and the Captain Marvel Statue. Jordan gets blown out of the water  with model sheets because Allen has color versions of the model sheets on his wall. These color version are selling on EBay for $15.00. No mention is brought up about the puzzle.  Jordan shows the last item  the Captain Marvel statue which Allen is interested in. Jordan offers it for $1500.00 not $1800.00 and Allen agrees.

Once again we see Jordan making the rookie mistake of not  reviewing with the client his needs and seeing the client’s existing collection before buying. The Masters of the Universe section shows how items despite not being mint still have a value especially  when bought in bulk. The show has bad editing with at one point the Captain Marvel statue going to be sold for $1800.00 at one point. When Jordan offers it to Allen it is $1500.00.

Next week episode is Jordan hunting for Teenage Age Ninja Heroes for Vanilla Ice.
