We just got word from our good friend Brian Johnson that Hasbro is coming out with a series of 2.5 inches unpainted Star Wars figures under a series call Star Command. From the pictures it look like it will be a major under taking with figures and vehicles. While they have done figures before, in this size this is a major change, it is the playset you always wish for. Check out pictures at the link below.

As mention in the comments, Tom Black noted that Guardians of the Galaxy the big movie for this year from Marvel has 2.5 inch figures.

Update: We are checking various sources and we have found more information on the Star Wars Command. On the Newsarama web site I found out that the Star Command figures will be from various parts of mythos including a new series called Star Wars Rebels. The good guys in the Command sets have round or oval bases while the bad guy bases are hexagonal.
I have included a link to this information which has better pictures of the figures. you also noted the vehicles such as ships are too small. One set will have Millennium Falcon in a larger scale.
I hope these figures do well and encourage other toy makers to make the same. I’d really like to see Game of Thrones, The Hobbit and 300 done this way.
