Erwin has sent us the first pictures of Chinese for Sino-Japanese War. Erwin shows the front and back of the eight figures. Erwin has also done comparison pictures of the OWN Figures with AIP Boxer Rebellion. The Own Figures are in yellow while AIP are in a blue. No word yet when they will be available or price. We will be posting the Japanese from the Sino-Japanese War later today.
Wow! They seem to be a perfect fit for my Army in Plastic Boxer Rebellion. Not only in size, but also in sculpting style. Of course, once again, no information on price, timeline availability, or location of a source. It would seem all the great artistry and sculpting goes for naught if we American collectors can’t find a convenient source to purchase the figures. Just like we encountered trying to obtain the earlier Russian figures, which were equally well done, and equally scarce and well-nigh impossible to obtain. If Hobby Bunker, TSSD, MarxMan, and Michigan Toy Soldier can’t even locate a source for them to make them available on a widescale basis, then what is the point?
Permit me to re-write my last sentence in the above response: If established U.S. dealers/distributors like Hobby Bunker, TSSD, MarxMan, Michigan Toy Soldier Co., and Delson’s Toy Soldier Company (or anyone else) can’t even locate a source for the figures to make them available on a widescale basis, then what is the point? We went through this at the last two OTSN’s —-approximately one (1!) each of the new Russian sets available for sale at the entire show, at an absolutely ridiculous price. Do these new makers have the slightest idea what it means to have a “DISTRIBUTOR”, or, at the very least, a “DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM”?

As to why the companies you mentioned did not find these figures that is hard question to answer. Until Erwin popped up with the figures earlier this month, the figures only existed in test shots or samples.
