That was a VERY interesting interview with Mr. Glikin of Plastic Platoon.

It was nice to see photos of the new British figures opposing the German paratroopers on Crete, and to find out about the planned WWII Greek figures, followed by a whole series on the Siege of Leningrad, and ultimately sets from the WWII Phillipines Campaign.

I liked the photos of Mr. Glikin’s own collection of toy soldiers, and noted he forthrightly declared that his favorite toy soldier figures and inspiration for his own Plastic Platoon creations were Conte’s WWII sets.

    Thanks for the link.

Good article on Plastic Platoon! Looks like some nice sets on the way. One thing I wonder with the Russian makers – Plastic Platoon, Engineer Bassevitch, Publius is if they are fans of older Hollywood War movies like Guns of Navarone, Dirty Dozen, Gunga Din, Kelly’s Heroes Et… and if they would be “inspired” to recreate the character figures in these movies. I’ve been waiting for some nicely sculpted plastic figures and they have the artistic talents to pull it off.

  3. Thanks for sharing the article Paul. I think that Plastic Platoon is going to be real busy this year with many new sets coming out. It should be interesting to see what sets come out later this year and the coming years.

    Take Care for now, Mike.
