Searching Internet Plastic Figures Head Up

Searching Internet Plastic Figures

Rick Fisher sent this photo in response to Laurie’s post. While political incorrect, it highlights a sad aspect of our history. It was good to take your enemy’s head.

Searching Internet Plastic Figures Zulu

Not all the items I find are plastic figures. Occasionally I will find an interesting history article. For most of us the first time we were aware of Rorke’s Drift was the movie Zulu. It made us wish we had a playset which did not happen until Richard Conte did his Zulu playsets. The Daily Mail published recently an article on battle I thought you would enjoy it. ( I know one person will condemn using this source. Oh Well.

For anyone who likes the film ZULU I would recommend the Book
” Zulu With Some Guts Behind It” by Sheldon Hall. Published by Tomahawk Press
This is an excellent in depth look at the making of the film.

Interesting the two holding hand are using left .Good use of Russian knight pose w banner for that.
Nothing incorrect ,it was a common practice back then ,history facts can not be denied.
Marx did pose of indians with scalps ,so did Starlux buffalo bill with same and other makers.Interesting part and crude if look that way is that these were “:toy soldiers figures for kids back then”.
i like the video much .
About Zulu is a well done film ,very close to historical correct.the realism is impressive
The aftermath part where zulu wounded were killed was not portrayed. It happen and added considerable to casualties so high in Zulu. The stand was very brave and not expected by Zulus. It was a morale booster used as big propaganda after the huge disaster at Isandlwana.
I like much the later film Zulu down where the brave Zulu really outsmart and destroyed so quickly an larger British army with modern cannon /fire rockets and is considered one of the few largest victory of a very inferior indigenous warrior army against far advance modern army at modern style battle formation.
    my thoughts
