Toy Hunters Knoxville

This week’s episdoe found Jordan Hembrough in the Knoxville Tennesse looking for toys. The show now normal pattern is to visit  three different collectors.  The show saw Jordan buying older toys than we have seen him buy before including a Ideal Haunted House and Marx Navaronne playset. There was some interesting information given on the show such as the Ideal Haunted House  major piece is the jewel hidden in the attic. Without the jewel in the set the price on the Haunted House drops. Another interesting piece of information was that the lizard on Star Wars Dagobah Playset has the name of the designer’s daughter Emily on it. Other information was missed on such as the Marx Navarone playset was not licensed by Marx.

The prices of the items Jordan paid were a mix  from on the mark to question marks.  The 12 inch  GI Joes he bought all had repro boxes something that hurts the value of a toy.   The GI Joe Green Beret looking at Ebay he paid high. Likewise the Marx Navarone playset, Jordan paid high as no box was shown and looked incomplete missing the army vehicles.  The Set of Flash Gordon figures we did not get an idea of how many figures he got for $200.00 The series did  8 figures over a two year period. The Matt Mason items he could have been on the mark as they are highly collectible especially mint in the box.  If you agree or disagree on the price let me know.

The show was flat, Jordan needs to to do a little more inter-action with the collectors to make the show more personable as to why the collector collected the item. One spot the collector mentioned that he had bought the Matt Mason space Station for %15.58. It would been a good spot to find out why he left it mint in the box. Also he has to get a scene in with his assistant back at base, which feels too much like American Pickers.
