Daren has this to say about his  knight conversions
I have a box full of spare figures and Bits & Bobs that come in very useful when i’m doing conversions. A few years ago I thought it would be fun to do some Knights conversions. So I mixed and matched figures and bits from the box and made about 50 Knight figures to add to my army. Here are some of the figures I did. Some figures I turned Cavalry Knights into Infantry Knights, Some figures are well known but some I haven’t a clue what make they are and are just figures that I accumulated over the years. As usual I used Quick Grip Glue and Super Glue to do the conversions and then I have given every figure A full paint job.

Greg made an interesting discovery on BMC which he wanted to share.
Well, I’ve about seen it all now for the BMC color mess ups. Now I have found Brit Grenadiers in blue. Going to do head swaps to make them Colonial infantrymen. The Cornwallis character figure is great in blue! I went to the hobby store looking for artillerymen in red and ran across this. No red artillery guys, though.

We have here on the Timpo solid Cossack clubbing.  The mold is missing and these figures are very fragile.

Checking with Kent Sprecher, he sent this photo showing the other two figures in the set.  He is the poses as changing light bulb, worker on jackhammer and worker with sledge hammer

Auburn had nice detail. Did Auburn use the same sculptor as Marx?

I also like the Medieval conversions!

I know the unidentified figure on the left in this picture

Like the other figure in the picture, he is based on a mounted Turk/Saracen from the Britains Deetail range, or possibly an Awesome Kids knockoff of the same figure. The one on the right has the original legs with a loincloth added, but the one on the left has legs I don’t recognize. Possibly from a Timpo solid knight but I don’t really think so.

Original figure in the middle here: https://www.picclickimg.com/d/w1600/pict/152807638984_/Britains-deetail-3-turks-Saracens-1970s-132.jpg

Your absolutely right Mark, They are Awesome Kids knock off Saracens, Yeah the figure on the left I used some Timpo King Arthur knights legs, And the figure on the right I cut the left leg off because it didn’t look natural and replaced it with a Simba knights leg and yes I added loin-cloths using just some bits of plastic.

  4. I really like the conversions of archer advancing firing and the Deetail mounted Saracen body on Timpo legs. A question for Darren, if I may, do you wargame with your medievals or just collect and convert?

    • Darren Hatley says:

Thanks Brian no I dont have any kind of battles with my figures anymore, Ive got to many aches and pains these days and wouldn’t be able to move if I sat on the floor for long periods, Although sometimes I have battles with them in my head Lol does that count? No I just do lots of Conversions and Painting the figures just for the love of it.

  5. ERWIN SELL says:

Great conversion ,heck of cutting and mixing ,hard to tell if original or else ,well done and paint match cover very well.AWESOME!!
i think figure in left is a Timpo bottom legs with part of either Britain or Dulcop sacracen top part.
Hard to see from one picture angle only.
Archer pose is super realistic .
Dulcop mounted in other foot i did one like that using other Dulcop foot pose parts .
    best

  6. Darren Hatley says:

Thanks Erwin these are some of my more simpler conversions and ive got plenty more to show. Yes the Saracen top half is Britains Deetail knock off and the legs are from Timpo King Arthur knight.
I dont know who the Archers top half is but the legs belong to the cheap bag of Knights and Warriors that Ive got plenty of and are always handy for converting.

    • ERWIN SELL says:

I think the archer top is british made ,i just mix up in my head by looking ophone the maker.
Brian should know it right away i bet.
but the two parts combined are very awesome action unique done…
      best

  7. TDBarnecut says:

The conversions are creative and well done. What kind of paint do you use?

The Auburn construction guys are missing hardhats, goggles, ear plugs, steel toed boots, etc. They are so not politically correct.
