Interesting figures.Even x a non popular war they can be used in many others.Figures look poor sculpted to me and many are not quite action poses.
Still another east production adition for this year so far.
Wonder why the name Asia was chosen.

    My thoughts

  2. Christian Aldo says:

Were these cast from original 19th century wood carvings!

  3. Darren Hatley says:

A nice set of figures in good poses, Yeah I agree some of these figures could fit into any era including Ancient and Fantasy, I might get a set of these. I hope this New company comes out with more interesting figures, Lets wait and see. A nice addition to the hobby.

  4. Danny says:

I remember seeing a great movie called ‘Tempest’ featuring the Pugachev rebellion with Van Heflin as Pugachev and Viveca Lindfors , I think, as Catherine the Great

  5. Tom Black says:

I think it’s the faces that give them the “wood” carving look. The rest of the sculpting looks pretty good. They must be mountain people with the heavy winter clothing.

  6. Mark T. says:

I’m not too interested in that historical period, but I see a half-decent wizard, an assassin and a barbarian in there as well as some good fighter types. They do look like wood carvings, though.

Is this the same company that made that mounted Cossack set a few months ago?

  7. Daniel Murphy says:

The big eyes in the figures are a bit reminiscent of those in Russian icons.

    • Erwin says:

Yes the figures have stronger Eurasian style art on then and Russian of course even though they clearly are made and depict not ethnic Russian Slavs but stepes central asia people in their fight for freedom agaist opressive Russian empire. The name choose by maker definitely mark the strong idea to separate then from Russians.
      Best…

  8. Greg Liska says:

I can see a lot of use for these figures. The style of sculpting makes them look like they would fit in with stuff like Jean Hoefler Knights or the more recent painted figures that seem to be attributed to a whole lot of distributors. Mine had ‘Steven’s Hobbies’ on most of the header cards. A nice group of Slavic peasant auxiliaries.
