As I mention before the set has twelve figures.  They break down to Shamil and 7 highlanders and Shah or officer and three soldiers.  Shamil was a reistance fighter against Russia. He was captured and held in custody for the rest of his life.

I believe this is Shamil

This should be Shamil’s wife  Anna Ivanovna Ulykhanova. she was very loyal to him and stay with him.  I see her figure being used in other settings.

The Persian shah or officer.

  2. Shamil with sword up over his head
  3. Warrior standing firing rifle
  4. Shamil’s wife with a knife in her right hand
  5. Caucasin warrior lunging with sword straight ahead
  6. Archer reaching for an arrow
  7. Caucasin warrior kneling with rifle
  8. Caucasin warrior laying firing

This is a really interesting set that Engineer Bassevitch has done. I like everything about it. You only have a few non combative poses. There are some great action poses among Shamil’s men. My favorite is Caucasin warrior  lunging with the sword.  Shamil’s wife I can see people using in their Arabian settings.  I wonder what other figures could we mix in to enhance either side. For the Persians you could use the Cane copies of the Elastolin Turks. Let us know your thoughts.

These figures will be out at the of February.

This set is one of best by then in amount poses in combative action poses and multiuse.
I see then as turks, and very minor cuts as many else .

Again i must admit one of best detail well done set ever by EB,look at musket weapons ornate detail done ,impressive. If ever see close up image of at FB post other pictures .
I can see a lot use for these poses set as any Cossacks army ,tartars ,even as Turks or pirates from middle east mediterranean or black sea as well Punjab /northeast frontier colonial wars too i think. The woman have a lot potential to be use from ancient to XIX century arab else as well the archer as early medieval till early XIX century of many armies.
I had before criticism accuracy/historicy and lack poses in some EB sets. This is one or my best so far done, definitely in my collection soon

    Very nice !

  3. JM says:

Anyone else look at the Shamil’s wife figure and think Chani, from Frank Herbert’s sci fi novel, Dune? And the warrior lunging with sword (the bald one with the beard) could easily be Stilgar.

  4. Christian Aldo says:

    IMPRESSIVE!
    I’m jealous!
    Dying for more WWII !!

  5. Steve Zobel says:

    These are very nicely done!
I can see these fighting the British in a Last Stand at Gandamak scenario.
Or maybe a version of Kipling’s, Kim in “Great Game” scenario.
    They have definite potential.
