  3. Darren Hatley says:

Once again some really Great figures coming out of Eastern Europe, Very detailed figures in good and exciting poses, Just a pity that these Publius figures are out of my price range.

  4. Brian Johnson says:

Outstanding as usual except for those D**n mini mountain bases. If a figure can’t stand on their own two feet just put them on a plain flat base.

  5. Mark T. says:

Magnificent figures! I like these even better than the Plastic Platoon Vietnam sets.

I was actually thinking I was finally going to be buying a Pvblivs figure when I saw the single figure Viking… Then I saw that including postage the one Viking would cost me about $25.00. That’s almost half the price of a full set of Pvblivs. It’s a wonderful figure, but jeez. Should be no more than $10 for the single figure and $5 for shipping.

Seriously, why should 1 figure cost $9.99 to mail? I get sets of 5 Tehnolog figures sent to me from Russia at the shipping rate of $5.00 + $1.00 for each additional set. Does this Pvblivs Viking come to your door borne on the golden wings of Valkyries or something?

    • ERWIN SELL says:

Mark You should hold in viking as will part of new full set for possible Battle of Stamford Bridge against saxons .Also there more normans and romans in line as waiting x future sets possibilities .Yet (Jura) Publius owner is very close to release info till last time.
These are base in all metal poses sets from where Publius extract poses from .
      Best

    • Darren Hatley says:

I totally agree Mark some people are very fair and reasonable with they’re postage and some are not. That is something ive noticed on ebay over the last few years.

    • Erwin says:

Any lower shipping small pack to canada or rest world from here will cost foreign buyers not less 14.00 USD approx by today lowest usps rates. So 10.00 x any parcel from russia not letter is not bad at all after all.Now most US international shipping are protected and track while many from abroad to us in economic way are not protected and take much longer in many.
      My throughs.

      • admin says:

Postage to Canada is usually around $10.00. The rest of the world is $13.50. This for one figure. I take it to the post office as I have no turst of the Ebay system. The foreign price will increase in this year as the reguar first postage is going up in this month. Foreign follows a few months later.

        • Mark T. says:

I know for sure that the Russian sellers on eBay that I regularly buy Tehnolog from are only charging 4 to 5 dollars shipping for a 5 figure set with an additional 1 dollar per additional 5 figure set.

That means for the $10 shipping cost of the Publius single Viking, these other Russian sellers can and have shipped me a total of 30 figures.

          • ERWIN SELL says:

Mark, yest that is Maxim and there is other who does, that is because russian shipping method they use have not protection at all,is the low cheap option but very risky.Chinese shipping is very cheap as well too ,not if use HK royal shipping of course.
From Spain there is an option considered letter till 3 pound that is very cheap but again nt protection and not right to claim nothing .
But considering others seller will not like take that risk is probably reason on some prices high ,others not .Specially if sellers use ebay that will protect ten times more buyers and give full refund to buyer if item lost while seller loose the item and entire sale price plus fees charged -a complete loss.
So some sellers take risk others not.
            best

  6. Brian Johnson says:

First time I’ve seen a Crossbow held like that??

    • TDBarnecut says:

If you tip the bow, the bolt may fall out? Better to keep it level I say.

      • ERWIN SELL says:

I agree, yet he looks like barely holding arrow with fingers as well and crossbow not fully sideways but possible in angle as to shoot through a hole or narrow space .
I can see the pose not common but peculiar unique as well and possible to be done .
        my thoughts.
        best

  7. ERWIN SELL says:

  8. ERWIN SELL says:

The viking pose may/could /can represent the brave stand at battle of stamford Bridge of one warrior who hold the bridge along x long till overwhelmed .The partial stories says as this ,extracted from internet easy finds.
“”The Anglo-Saxon Chronicle has it that a giant Norse axeman (possibly armed with a Dane Axe) blocked the narrow crossing and single-handedly held up the entire English army. The story is that this axeman cut down up to 40 Englishmen and was defeated only when an English soldier floated under the bridge in a half-barrel and thrust his spear through the planks in the bridge, mortally wounding the axeman.””
Because is told by its enemies it is possible it happen and indeed was a great warrior that kill many opponents along. The pose looks very menacing imposing in figure as if were representing it.
    my though.
    best.

    Amazing figures !

  10. Tom Black says:

I have a question and maybe Erwin or someone else knows. Is there some kind of molding issue in creating Crossbowman figures? The Marx 60mm Crossbowman is awkward and crooked, the Warhansa looks awkward, the PVBLIVS here although excellent sculpt, looks lopsided. The Italeri and Ex Force had a plug in arm with crossbow and they look great when assembled. Replicants Sheriffs Men had a detachable crossbow/plug-in. Barzso/LOD looks like it was plugged in after molding.

    • Erwin says:

I bet question could be respond by many but I will do as direct to me.I’m not expert at all please ,It is my personal response only
Base in my experiences and observations of molds i had seen in their process only please.
In my opinion is because position of horizontal crossbow will increase space in halve mold and very difficult x maker doing figures 1n such 3D body to proper fit in mold two halves.
Forcing makers design separated the crossbow with the arms or hands often.
It Is same effect w shields in complete facing forward position that when not done separared in most figures come in odd side way front facing position.Often forcing us hot water bent front it to make looks correct.Sample Herald trojans, Atlantic ancients and many others.
Remember while figure is done in 3 D .The two halve mold in reality have two D image only in most and the middle detail often is reduced or cut w out much detail.
This option was first experimental used as far i recall by CTS doing the early WW2 german odd seating machine gun crew and japanese WW2 sets were the poses have separate body parts as well.It was A chinese artist early try do this way and come pretty much ok .
lATER conte use the method to create a more realistic true 3D poses by making separated arms with Machine gun as well.
Is true most vintage crossbow poses (just to mention few ,starluX,Secol, jean Hoefler and Heirline ,etc) have to cross bow in odd position-seminagle as not done separated. Now more expensive mold maker such Elastolin were able create true thicker 3D molds but cost is much more and that is why their figures increase in price too.
Some recent makers had adopt the pain work of pre cold positioned of shield arms.
A method require a lot extra hands in productions but could be done if cheap cost produced. The supreme/brand figures romans base in King and country poses sets are example of it.

Some makers in past such timpo multiparts and Bruber from Spain went around to try resolve this issue better.
I will do post w samples in future to show it .Another to pile back so much in admin and all you guys post of course.
      Best.

  11. Henry Paas says:

wish the postage wasn’t so much for them cause then i could buy them separate not so keen on the crossbow man wish these were domestic wouldn’t have to worry about them snapping in the cold
