Allentown Toy Show, Britains Trojans, Matt Dillon Odds Ends  Show

The Allentown Toy Show is a two day affair. The first day is dealer setup and a chance for early buyers.  I got in on dealer day as I helped a friend set up.   The show promotes the old antique toys. You see ships from the 1890’s selling for thousands of dollars. Likewise you can see cast iron toys.  There is a wide range of toys.

Allentown Toy Show Interesting Show Plastic Time

The hunt for plastic figures and accessories can be hard. Fortunately there were several dealers with plastic.  One of the dealers was Mike Rosso. Mike had plastic figures loose  and in playsets.  Next to him was Beth Rash. She was selling various items from her late husband Tom Rash’s collection.  She had Barzso Collectibles playsets and Dreamwish boxes for sale. Tom would ordered the Dreamwish playset boxes and then fill them with pieces that would work in the set.  Beth also has loose figures including Marx 60mm spacemen.

Carey was there with plastic as well.  Other dealers had plastic figures. One dealer had a Marx Zorro chacter figure, which a friend bought on the second day.

Allentown Toy Show Interesting Show  Second Day

The second day was for the public. I was back to see some friends. Also there were a few dealers that were not set up on the first day.  I was able to find a few things.

I got a nice lot of anicent figures. The main piece was the Timpo Roman chariot. It is a nice piece with four horses.  The lot also included Britains Trojans and Elastolin Romans with out weapons. 

The other major purchase was two Processed Plastic 2 1/2 Ton Army Trucks. These two trucks are the best in quality I have gotten in years.

I miss another actor again. This time it was Daniel Roebuck. Dan has been in a number of movies and television shows. Dan collects monster items. I was not upset missing him as Laurie and I know him well as he is from his area. We may see him in the future.

The show is  one that has seen better days. Still it can be worthwhile for finding items.
