Odds and ends 8/25/12

It has been quiet in the toy soldier field. The only thing new that has been aunnounced has been TSSD coming out with some new Civil War mounted figures with plug in arms, so you can do different poses. The figures will eventually go into a playset with Custer and Jeb Stuart  character figures.  We still have not heard if Weston will have any new items from his company or Replicants.

There is a lot displeasure over the new location of the London Toy Soldier Show. The promoters decided to move when they lost a hall that housed 15 to 25 dealers.  The show was moved to a location in Isslington another suburb of London England. The dealers are unhappy with this location plus new rules on set up etc.  Various collectors and dealers have stated that they will not be attending. We will keep you posted.

Someone asked what I got Laurie for our wedding anniversary. I gave her money.  I asked and got a flea market. Usually on my birthday we will do a flea market, even though it is cold.  Laurie and I had a great time at the flea market. I found only one stand with items to buy but that is the nature of the beast anymore. The items I bought ESCI 1/35 Scale Napoleonic and Marx garage pieces made the trip worthwhile. Afterwards we went out for breakfast at this nice dinner we found.  Later that evening we went to middle eastern restaurant we love for a great meal.

We are waiting for a report on Wayne show which is tomorrow. I decided against do it as the last time I found very little and it hassle to get at it.  We have some flea markets coming up next week during the labor day weekend that will make up for it.  I found out a local buffet will be open on labor day and I decided we will go there instead of  during our regular hot dogs and corn. The price of the buffet is $6.00 a person so you can not go wrong.
