The entire Cowboy pose and set matter was brought by French after they saw your post,  the one by Paul Morehead in PW magazine and Kent’s site.   They took the issue as in the investigation because in early 70s the figure was already made with the others in a JEM painted set (see last first photo please) .
The Jem figure was definitely copied by Tibidabo  who had copied Marx,Dulcop and CANE often in past .

The set had the Jem bank robber which was copied by Tibidado. Both Tibidabo and Barabelli copied most from others. They are not recognized in any Italian books as have produced any original sets at all. They were copiers.

We thank GTO,INSISTORE,ALAIN and Duc from french blog  for help on this question.

Kent told us the following:The new Mars moderen warfare sets have arrived. They are selling the old Napoleonic Russians.  The Russians are 16 figures in 8 poses and the box I inspected had one each of the man with pike, fifer, drummer and flag bearer, 4 kneeling shooting, 2 standing shooting, 3 running with rifle and 3 rifle at waist.  So a better assortment that when we had to sell them in sets of one of each pose.  It would make better sense for there to be 3 each of the riflemen so I may have opened a missorted set.

The napoleonic Russian are nice but with too short muskets as are not rifles ,still nice figures .Would not be for boy pose the set will be great x several to create battle groups.I have two sets of then and unless find loose poses in quantity will not buy more to end with too many boys and hard to convert extra officer, drummer and banner poses. So out of 8 poses only 4 are to massive combat scenes.I can convert few drummer and possible banner as regular armed soldiers but officer and boy are way too hard and require a lot cutting/change not worth x me least.
Also is important to notice that this set represent pre 1809 napoleonic russian in uniforms and specially early shako hat not used after and during 1812 campaign at all.Yet could be used and converted as Prussian or other baltic and german principles that used alike uniforms.
P.S interesting they made a rise leg running pose out of original advancing pose Wonder how they get along with it if remold or new mold made before or else as set/mold was from original ORITET manufacture from 1989-2004?? .

    my thoughts..
    best

I’ve got a bunch of those Norev figures, multiples of the bank robber in various colors as well as some of the other poses. The bank robber is the only one I like of those poses, they are a soft plastic vinyl like material with a partial factory paint job. I bought them on E-bay in a but it now, I only wanted the bank robber, and since it was a low price I bought the lot. The seller was kind enough to include an extra dozen or so figures in the lot, not great fgures, but the price was right.

I pulled out my Norev’s, I have four Indian poses on foot and two mounted. The cowboys I have 6 foot poses and 1 riding pose. I don’t have the Indian firing a rifle pose.

  4. I was told years ago the six cowboys in my picture were made by Tibidado but forgot to write the name down. So I guess they are copies of JEM. Interesting that the picture above and my web site picture both have the man with pistol and satchel being made in yellow and painted gray. Perhaps the one above is the one I sold years ago.

I don’t remember where I got him. He is a favorite figure becaause of the pose is so dynamic. An interesting story on the figure, when I first posted picture many years ago I had someone contact me. He wanted to buy it from me. I passed. He then tried to play on my sympathies by saying he was promise the figure by someone but the person died before he could send it. I could see through the scam and told him no. I never heard from him again.

I like that bank robber figure, too. He is just as well sculpted as any western figures made within the last decade. He is very action packed and the sculpting style is more detailed and proportioned than the blue cowboy with the rifle and more natural than the Marx 6″ copies in the Jem series.

Marx 6″ cowboys and their smaller clones are very nice figures, but they have this extremely neat and tidy tailored look, like they stepped out of an old 50s TV western. The bank robber has a more natural style like you would expect on a wild west character.

I was lucky enough to get a Jem bank robber a couple of months ago on eBay. I think I might paint mine the same color as my Weston gunfighters.

        • Erwin says:

The other pose are nice too in my like. The one shooting to side w rifle is awesome too.
I got the full Norev set and one light blue not luggage plus one old Jem being shoot.
          Best…

          • Mark T. says:

Yes, the rifle man is awesome.

I just realized I said “Weston” gunfighters. I actually meant my “Austin” gunfighters. The Weston figures are nice Magnificent Seven guys, but the Austin are a better match scale-wise for the Jem figure.

  5. ed borris says:

My bank robbers are red, black, white and yellow.
